Use BRUVS? Our new study uses barracuda spots to check independence among BRUVS. TLDR; sometimes we saw same fish on different cameras but BRUVS 500m apart can be considered independent. Great to see this paper come out at link.springer.com/article/10.1.... Former lab grad student Lanie Esch did a great job looking at fish in the FL aquarium trade and working out which were the biggest risks as future invasive species based on release probabilities and chances of establishing.
