I’m so happy to look at this every day
I love seeing my paintings where they were always meant to be, like this one, called Floating Structure, that I painted three months ago today. Now it's hanging in the home of two fantastic poets, @aliblythe.bsky.social and Melanie Siebert. Now go read their books! www.paulvermeersch.ca/p/art.html
My thanks to @sshrc-crsh.canada.ca for supporting my @royalroads.ca master's research with a Canada Graduate Scholarship. The project explores artist- and writer-in-residence programs in public universities across Canada, and the slipstream spaces between higher education and creative practice.
In which I read my poem “Potato Cellar” from Who Else in the Dark Headed There. Give it a listen.
Two more readings coming up on our Atlantic tour. If you are in St. Andrews, join us at McGuire Chocolate with Bucca dell'Acqua books, or in Fredericton, at the Westminster Bookmark! @gooselane.bsky.social @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social @melaniesiebert.bsky.social
Melanie and I kick off our Atlantic tour in Halifax this Tuesday at the Trident. A decade ago I was there with my first book, Twoism. It's awesome to return knowing how beautiful the city, poets and people are. @melaniesiebert.bsky.social @gooselane.bsky.social @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social
❤️ Please join me in celebrating this beautiful book, journey and poet!

Some news. I have a new book of poetry out this April with @biblioasis.bsky.social. It's called Who Else in the Dark Headed There.
The jury: Her sensibility is unmistakable….There is often a fairytale quality to her imagery, a surreality; at other turns, she transforms the grit of everyday life into a glorious marvel. Turza is one of our finest poets, a visionary whose work has the texture of prophecy. I couldn’t agree more.
Anne-Marie Turza is the inaugural winner of the Writers’ Trust Board Fellowship. The #WTFellowship rewards one writer annually with $50K and a residency at the @banffcentre.bsky.social for Arts and Creativity. Turza’s win marks the start of WT’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
🚨NOW OPEN🚨 The Claire Harris Poetry Prize is now open for submissions! The biennial prize will be awarded to a full-length debut poetry collection by a writer who is Black, Indigenous, or from another racialized community. Details at gooselane.com/ClaireHarrisPoetryPrize
Oh man this is my kind of book. The fierce, erotic lament of it. And just wildly smart. @paulvermeersch.bsky.social with @ecwpress.bsky.social 📖 ecwpress.com/products/nmlct
Tomorrow, I join forces with Jan Zwicky to read Jan’s new long poem, Say It, which arises from the depths of environmental cataclysm. Say It is a recent release from Deer Mountain Pages. Tim Lilburn will introduce this unique publishing venture and lead a discussion with us after the reading.

A glance at an extraordinary new release from Luke Hathaway. A NYT Best Book of Poems when @biblioasis.bsky.social first published it. Rereleased with a new afterword to his afterword and poems—and man has he travelled, body and spirit. One of our best writers today.
Ali Blythe is the author of three poetry books, including Stedfast and Hymnswitch. He recommends Luke Hathaway's poetry book Years, Months, and Days. With: @aliblythe.bsky.social @gooselane.bsky.social @biblioasis.bsky.social #Booksky More below 👇
