Genuine question. Why do people sit with the engine running in car parks, when it’s not especially hot or cold outside? Do modern cars not have the battery to power a radio, or are they just ready to make a quick getaway?

As @timrgill.bsky.social says, there are 2 groups whose interests overlap around the issue of children and cars: those who care about children’s well-being and those who care about better streets. If you fall into one or both of these, please find time to listen to this chat (and read our report!)

“The UK is now perilously close to…authoritarian rule. Ministers won’t even meet with hunger strikers who are now at death’s door. They seem perfectly ready to let this country’s most committed and courageous opponents of an ongoing genocide waste away and die.” www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Former hunger strikers have written this powerful plea to the UK Government, who would rather let these dedicated young activists - who have not been found guilty of any crime - starve to death in prison than meet them to discuss their demands for fair treatment. www.aljazeera.com/opinions/202...

An urgent appeal to save the lives of Palestine Action hunger strikers

Former hunger strikers from Ireland, Palestine and Guantanamo Bay call on the UK government to take immediate action.

This is also what Yvette Cooper, when she was UK Home Secretary, said about #PalestineAction. If you knew the secret stuff I know, you'd agree with me that they're terrorists. It's the cheapest and basest way for a politician to malign someone, and a clear sign of a flailing, undemocratic state.
