The lecture is not restricted to members of the Society, but non-members wishing to attend are asked to advise the Secretary and Treasurer in advance of their intention to attend. Non-members can do this by emailing: stairsociety@gmail.com.

Update: The Stair Society is delighted that Professor Julian Goodare, Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Edinburgh, will be giving the Society's Annual Lecture on Saturday 15 November 2025 in Edinburgh. The title of his talk is 'Witchcraft and Scots Law'.

Over the summer, Stair Society members received the Society's latest volume: 'Jus Feudale, Book 2' by Thomas Craig, translated and edited by Dr Leslie Dodd. We hope everyone received their copy and are enjoying taking a look at this latest volume!

The Stair Society Legal History Moot last Saturday was a success! Highly skilled teams from the University of Aberdeen and University of Edinburgh competed, with Edinburgh being the ultimate winner. It was a highly entertaining moot and we hope our audience enjoyed it as much as we did!
