You know the world is fucked when you're rereading The Stand and it is very much a comfort read. A trip back in time and as comfy as well worn slippers.

Amazing how much men do not like it when you treat them the way you see them treat the women around them.
People with souls and consciences are trying to understand people without. Because trying to understand is our nature. We're learning, painfully, that it can be impossible. Some people lack anything within themselves we can connect to and understand. Some people are terrible. They are voids.
And then, out of nowhere, my husband stopped in work with a bag… In the bag— My husband is ✨ the best ✨
If you don't eat GF and bought a load of GF Cheez-Its to flip on eBay for ridic prices, I hope you get stuck with a ton of them and then choke on them. I will wait another 16 years for a Cheez-It than buy from poachers. Note: I have no issue with straight up resellers. Just this kind of shit.
Home sick today and watching one of my sick day movies for the last 30+ years. Most times I mention this movie people say, “never heard of it”. Which is a damn shame since I think it’s a classic example of a dark 90s thriller.

Our country is in such a state that witnessing a moment of real humanity and kindness brings me to tears instantly. Seeing humanity, empathy, and kindness should not be the outlier. It should be the norm.
“Ooooh that’s bleeding a lot” is not something you want to hear 😅
Just me sitting at the dermatologist as a new patient because I fucked up and made an appointment at an all new place. But I’m here so…😅🫠
I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. I have gotten no less than 8 reminders between phone calls, texts, and emails. 3 of them after I clicked the link to confirm my appointment AND texted to confirm. Jeesh 🫠
Remember to shop small and haunted this season. I have most of my books available on my site aliseay.com and every order comes with a bag of goodies. A lot of indie authors sell signed copies so always check with us first 👀 ☠️ 🕯️ 🎄
Can we talk about what a sensory nightmare LED lights are? This is our tree this year. Halloween incandescents instead of the soft white I prefer.Because in LED land nothing is soft. And everything is overwhelming and stress producing. If anyone has any suggestions for non blinding white lights lmk
Monday's off to a rip roaring start, I see. I'm going to need more caffeine for this.
If your heart and soul are in need of some hope and goodness this was an excellent documentary from PBS. Free on YouTube and other platforms.
These last few weeks I was doing two hefty rereads. Both books on the long side for me (518 p/489 p) Ironically both also were: Set at a university Published in the early 90s I was pleasantly surprised that both had stood the test of time for me. Sometimes you can go home again. #nostalgia #books
When we get a rush and everyone needs help wirelessly printing... 😅
I'm very much a 90 minutes and done movie person. It's my preferred length and format lol. Get in, see horror, get out! But we watched Frankenstein last night and might I say, amazing. Poignant, beautiful, awful, profound, visually stunning. Not a wasted moment in it.
This was so much better than I expected. We really liked it. Joely Richardson was amazing. Currently free on Tubi 👀 (and a Tubi original!)
