I recommend this event to all @libdems.org.uk MPs and members who supported the @lgbtplus-social.bsky.social motion at conference when they will find out from legal experts that no rights have been lost ∵ of the Supreme Court ruling. In fact, transmen’s right to maternity benefits were protected.

Another disappointment to find out someone I've followed and enjoyed interacting with thinks men who self ID as "women" should have all the rights women are legally entitled to. I'm guessing he doesn't have daughters who might have to change in front of boys, or be denied a sporting win etc.

They think that transwomen are women. They think single sex spaces should include transwomen. They think they’ll never need to ask for care from a female clinician or facilities that cater for female bodies. I hope they don’t. But if they do, I’ll fight for their right to do so. But I’m the bigot.

Relentless abuse from trans activists can be overwhelming and BlueSky can suggest 'trans women are women' is a popular position. It's not. Trade unions are betraying and don't have broader membership support. UNISON, ASLEF, USDAW, Musicians’ Union will regret boycotting Labour Women’s Conference.

"UNISON, ASLEF, USDAW and the Musicians’ Union [...] have taken political representation purchased by women workers and thrown it away to make an ideological gesture against women organising as a sex." Unions that betray women don't deserve unflinching loyalty. heartlandstribune.com/the-empty-de...

Recently, I have made a habit of steelmanning the arguments this column takes on: giving the other side its best case, stated fairly, before answering it. On

I've seen this constantly framed as 'JK *suing* a human rights organisation' to suppress free speech. No doubt the apology will be seen as compelled by legal threats. Very, very tiresome. We still need to hear more - who the chuff thought it was ok to label a SA support service this way? Idiots.

More name calling and unevidenced assertions. You are not making a strong case for why women should allow biological males into their spaces and sports. Issues have been found over the years - everything from attacks on young girls to women self-excluding. Here are just a few examples:

How about instead you argue directly against our central premise. That is the strongest form of argument. Why do you think women should allow trans women (biological males) into their single-sex spaces, sports and opportunities (such as quotas)? How does this benefit women as a sex-class? [2/2]

The days when you can call women who believe that sex matters transphobic & hateful are over. Today we know we need to discuss where sex matters and where it does not and we listen without name calling. Even if we disagree we show respect for each other’s beliefs.
