Hard to believe that I'm writing my first nonfiction book. Even harder to believe that I'm writing about the very stories — immigration, political prisoners — that I've been reporting on for a year now. Still pinching myself. Still grateful to have the opportunity to help through writing.

I saw @helpingchildreninvenezuela put years of work into action when more donations and volunteers than they could have imagined showed up to help to Venezuelans following twin earthquakes that devastated cities. Many from Venezuela themselves. Some have family/friends still missing.
Over 100 men women and children aboard a US deportation flight to Venezuela are now missing, dead, or in critical condition. Hours after landing, 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes rocked the country, taking down the hotel they were being kept in.
My colleague and I broke down the legal aspects and human impact of the recent Supreme Court decisions surrounding immigration. I'm a little biased, but I believe this is a great piece, looking at both the logical and the emotional toll this is taking on people. www.dailykos.com/stories/2026...
