Animals never forget those who are kind and loving to them. Original post
Saw my mum today for the first time since getting my new tattoo (depicting girlcat) I am 38. I've been an adult longer than I've been a child. She sucked in her breath, and told me she hopes I don't get any more. Well given I have two more in the pipeline, I guess she just won't be shown ;)
Great to be back in the robes for the 3 Choirs Opening Service this morning.
Thought I'd booked spin this evening but I went on the app to cancel (tattoo related, yay) and it wasn't there. I went along anyway and they've cancelled the class. Turned out I'd never actually booked, else I'd have been told. Leg day it became (which was good, as I didn't want to sweat: new tat)
Sure, some men are jerks. Like the ‘influencer’ who carried a bath to the top of Snowdon for a selfie and dumped it there. But other men are heroes, like the teenage rugby team who carried it down. Well done lads. We see you. Show your sons. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/...

Gloucester Cathedral is a glorious sacred space & iconic landmark in the heart of Gloucester, with a history dating back to 679AD. The Cloister represents some of the most significant medieval architecture in the world, famed for its remarkable fan-vaulting, starring as ‘Hogwarts’ in Harry Potter.
If someone tells you that it’s “too early” to be talking about autumn, they’re failing to understand a simple truth: Autumn is not a time of year, but rather a state of mind 🎃🍁🍂
What Tim Henman was to Wimbledon, the England (men's) football team are to the World Cup. Like Tim, every now and then they reach the semi-final and then the whole country goes mad with anticipation. Will this finally be the year? And the answer is always: "no, of course not!"
The only way I can watch the football in a bar is with a good Belgian, so here I am and here it is.
I cycled to work the longer way today. At 5.5 miles, that's further than most UK car trips - yet it took me just 22 minutes We urgently need to unblock and enable the millions of short active trips that are being blocked every day because of our collective car dependency. Our health depends on it
VCH Volume 20...thanking archives, museums and the wider heritage sector for the access and sources. Thanks to the editors and supporters. It's been amazing being part of the journey @vch-home.bsky.social @chippenhammuseum.bsky.social @adamchapman.bsky.social @heritagewshc.bsky.social
Some days, there is a need to come to this most special place. Here, the quiet drowns the bustle even outside the window behind me, I can hear tourists chatting, the choir practicing, but this chapel is still peaceful. Thinking today of a very special family dealing with some devastating news.

One of my fave things in York Minster: a medieval wren stalking a spider. It reminds me that history isn't only kings and battles. Someone, centuries ago, found joy in the same things we still notice today. It's a reminder of how much we have in common over our differences.
Band gig today - went well, needed Pimm's afterwards though. It's tiring performing music, especially when I was trying to stop the music blowing away most of the time. (I had so much fun though, playing some absolutely glorious pieces including some tip top Jacob De Haan.) #ConfinedCocktails
I'm so excited to get this beautiful design by @selarin.bsky.social inked in the next couple of weeks! A homage to my girlcat and her perfect feet, created from a photo.
A much needed visit to the Lounge for post work drinks. How is it only Wednesday!
If England lets its cathedrals crumble, it will be everybody’s loss. Cathedrals are for Everyone and they Need our Support People walk into cathedrals for all sorts of reasons. They simply step inside and the building does the rest. https://ow.ly/g3WG50Zga8q

Today was another Prosecco in Cathedrals day, as we celebrated Debbie Orriss' first Eucharist after she was ordained Priest yesterday. I was so privileged to serve for this wonderful person.
I keep promising my poor cats (who luckily can't understand me) that "tomorrow will be cooler" and while ok today is cooler than yesterday, it is still massively unpleasant. And the cats are still shouting at me.
Someone I used to know, and very much respected, who was key in my involvement at the Cathedral, died last night. I had been waiting for and dreading the news for some years. Now the news has come, we move into a time of gratefulness for his ministry and for his life, despite its brevity.
