Trump is trying to pull off a US-style version of the Tiananmen Square Massacre coverup where everyone in China who remembered what happened on June 4, 1989 knows *exactly* what they must not admit and is utterly terrified to speak the truth. I never imagined seeing such abject cowardice in the US.

😮 Trump's nominees are the most pathetic men in the world 😮 During a hearing, Blumenthal made Trump nominees squirm by asking them who won the 2020 election -- a question they refuse to answer -- but then Schiff upped the ante by asking them *who won the 2016 election.* Here's a supercut:

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Congrats to Trump, Hegseth, and their boot-licking lackeys on exhausting the Pentagon's supply of long-range precision missiles on their unnecessary (and stupid) war of choice. www.reuters.com/world/us-has...

EXCLUSIVE: US has used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war, sources say

The degree to which the military is running out of ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles has not been previously reported.

Imagine claiming your god is behind powerful and wealthy people stripping food assistance, healthcare, USAID, environmental protections, food protections, terrorizing immigrants, and senseless wars, then getting so offended when people reject your god.

1. This New York Post cover: “Thousands of 9/11 families demand Mamdani be banned from 25th-Anniversary” is a brazen lie. How do I know? I interviewed the organizer of the petition.

IndieWire's Spider-Man: Brand New Day review was *brutal*. C-. I'm not surprised -- I thought the trailers did a piss-poor job of selling the movie -- but, wow. I'll wait a couple of weeks.

Who among us doesn't need a fire-breathing ASCII dragon helpfully telling an alarmed ASCII cow the date in Hobbiton in their Linux terminal? Might be helpful to some damn fool of a Took. A little Python program I whipped up, rewriting code I'd written in BASIC in the distant times of 1999!

An ASCII dragon breathes fire on an alarmed ASCII cow in my Linux terminal while also saying that the date (well, yesterday's date, as I type this) is Sterday, 5 Wedmath, the current date in the Shire of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

Sometimes I think of how much genius, talent, & possibility we've been robbed of in this world bc wealthy white men refuse to not be absolute ghouls to everyone. The women who lost opportunities bc they wouldn't trade their bodies for them. The of color & queer folks stifled just because. It sucks.

As many people are aware, I had a major heart attack nearly five years ago, and was diagnosed with terminal heart failure. With the sterling aid of the contributors to SFB, the site has continued but even with that help, it's now reached a point where I can't devote the energy to it any longer. 1/3

Wile E. Coyote is a van Gogh-level talent. In a better world, he would be hailed the world over and have exhibitions at the world's great galleries. He would be beloved, his genius recognized. A true master. Sadly, we do not live in such a world. For Wile E. Coyote's sake, I wish we did.

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

I think it was two years ago I went to a baseball game in Harrisburg, and after the game I walked into downtown. There was a CVS there, and I needed toothpaste, so I went inside. Everything except the coolers was locked up. I couldn't find anyone to unlock the cabinets. No toothpaste was bought.

"We may think companies are immoral, but that’s because we assume they are coldly dedicated to their bottom line, not making billion dollar decisions based on something someone sent them on Facebook."

The reason Zohran scares the shit out of them so much is that they think this sort of technocrat FDR liberalism/market socialism will *work* and be popular, not that it will fail and be unpopular. They're afraid that he will be a good mayor not a bad mayor.

zohran is a completely normal (mixed-market socialist/new-deal liberal/whatever) and it’s completely frying the brains of people with too much money or whose livelihoods are built on catering to the opinions of people with too much money
