Soul and Maka started to have some pretty heavy UST vibes beginning from chapter 63 (mostly Maka's usual subtle flirting becoming more blatant and Soul seemingly dodging her advances?) and I like how Salvage arc seemed to be the culmination of it that the whole Envy and Sloth chapters
Ohkubo: Alright, Maka and Soul are supposed to be battle partners that contribute to their fights equally, but how do I depict this through imagery? Ohkubo: Ah yes, make them appear like they are ballroom dance partners and Soul is the one leading the dance! Totally good idea!
What I love about soulmaka is throughout the series it was Soul who kept being shown doing domestic and caretaking shit to her (wether it's serving her tea and treats for no reason, making sure she touched some grass after she spent too much time inside, feeding her because she was bedridden etc)
