Weird (the good kind!) reclusive old lady who dabbles in art, cooking, and mocking Nazis. Fond of birds and gardens. Proud of my state of Minnesota. She/her. Re-enchantment is resistance.

Important details 🕯️ She passed away 2 days after I started painting the panels, so wanted the memory of her to be a permanent part of it.

Finally I took some pics of our latest crafting project! My partner @vyrosk.bsky.social & I build ourselves a chest from scratch & I decided to paint something into the arches. It was challening to work on, but I also enjoyed wood working & painting traditionally for once. #medieval #art

Ugh, back home in the grip of the season described as Hell’s Front Porch. Had to flee the North Shore this morning when smoke from the distant fires in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area turned the air to murk, with fine bits of ash falling.

The air is full of a murky grey dinge, melding sky and distance. The hood of a cranberry colored car dotted with particles of grey-white wood ash from distant forest fires in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. And this is why I’m glad we left this morning. Beauty from the north shore of Lake Superior at Iona’s Beach Scientific and Natural Area. The beach is composed of smooth pink rhyolite pebbles and is known as a singing beach. When the waves are just right, a musical tinkling sound can be heard as water trickles through the stones.

A sunlit beach of smooth pink pebbles circles to the left before arcing back to the right while turning into pink Rhyolite cliffs topped with green in the distance. The lake is shades of blue that darken with distance, with a bank of fog coming in to touch the distant cliffs. The sky is clear blue with a hint of finger.White daisies with golden eyes, orange hawkweed, and unidentified yellow wildflowers of various types along a trail near Iona’s Beach.Orange hawkweed, and a yellow wildflower I think is Tall Buttercup along a trail near Iona’s Beach. Both non-native, alas, but still a joy to view.More buttercups and daisies, and a couple tall stems with umbrella-like clusters of white flowers.

Today I’m sharing a few cat works that have been especially popular. Each one shows a different movement and personality, brought to life through simple lines. Some of these works are planned to become art prints and will be released in 3 days. Shop link in bio😊. #shouxinsketch #animalart

Long ago, dragons rose up against the gods. After a long war, the dragons were defeated. As punishment, the dragons were split, literally, and spread across the world. Their diminished selves seek their lost parts. Once the right nine lives of cats meet, they'll reform a dragon. #CrossRepost

When the selkie returned to the beach, a man was holding her sealskin. "Is this yours?" he asked. "May I borrow it?" "You want to be a seal?" "No, but when I take it off, I'll be a woman, right?" "My heart, you already are," the selkie said. "That skin is mine, but I can help you find yours."

When you see the story about how the world has its first trillionaire and when you see the story about how laboratories in Congo have run out of supplies to test for Ebola it is important to understand that in many ways these are the same story * 327: librarianshipwreck.wordpress.com/2026/06/19/p...

Plague Poems – The Three-Hundred-and-Twenty-Seventh Week

You cannot know for certain (even at this point) which of the four horsemen will dominate the headlines this week. But you can be quite certain (even at this point) that most of those horsemen will…

At the eve of the summer solstice, I pick seven different flowers, in seven different fields, all in complete silence. I tie them into a bouquet and put it under my pillow. Doing so means that tonight, I will dream of my true love. I already live with her, but I like dreaming of her too.
