No one seems to have noticed I’m a talentless hack masquerading as a writer, and I intend to ride that train as far as I can.

No one expected orphans to survive the war to end magic, let alone win it. But triumph saw a God bleed out on the altar of peace. Now, as mortals race to slaughter the five who remain, the children raised for holy war must decide if the divine deserve saving. #questpit #f #q

Alt text: Dark fantasy moodboard in a 3x3 collage. Images include a person underwater facing a giant whale, a rider silhouetted against fire, hands reaching from dirt, burning mountains, a skull in smoke, a lone figure before a burning village, a shadowed person lying down, a fiery close-up eye, and hands reaching toward blue lightning. Text reads: “Do you know what it costs? To be loved by a God.” and “Grief makes monsters of mothers,”.

A aesthetic in tones of lava red, black, and ash. Images include molten lava flowing across land, a volcano erupting into smoke, a waterfall of fire pouring off a cliff, hands crackling with magical lightning, and a deep red rose with scorched petals.

Overlaid text reads:

“Magic was not a wound to cauterise but a limb to amputate.”behind which very faint is a silhouette before a burning building.

“And so the continent turned on what remained of the Gods.” behind which very faint is a a winged figure falling through the clouds.

“And began to cut.” behind which very faint is a trail of blood trekking through snow towards a river.

The Dying Religion - Kaos x Witcher x Witcher No one expected orphans to survive the war meant to end magic, least of all win it. Victory’s cost? The death of their God. ❝Your first mistake was thinking that people like you and I were ever born to do anything but burn.❞ #questpit

An aesthetic in a 3x3 format, photos in column 1, row 1 & 2, and column 3, row 2 & 3 are divided by a torn scrap of paper with a little quote on both. These are described going from top left to top right and so on for each row.

A silhouette stood before a wall of ocean, a whale in the waters.
A silhouette on horseback, riding through flames.
A hand half buried by dirt, twined with vines and branches.
Meteors crashing into a hillside and town.
A skull partially buried in dirt.
A silhouette stood hunched over, watching a distant fire.
A hooded figure and an unclothed man, his soul being sucked out dementor [eeew] style.
The close up shot of an eye, fire replacing the iris.
Hands held partially apart, electricity flickering between them.

For column 1, row 1 & 2 the intercepting quote is "do you know what it costs to be loved by a God?"
For column 3, row 2 & 3 the intercepting quote is "Grief makes monsters of mothers."

Day 1 - #WriteToberSpringFest Welcome to my accountability thread for WritetoberSpringFest. I decided I want to be kind to myself because honestly I never am, and have given myself the (still will probably fail) aim of 300 words a day this month. Not to brag - already nailed.

A graphic for my writing accountability goals.

A background of chairs and other various office items like shelves and desks suspended/falling as the background.

The words

THE DYING RELIGION
"Restless, like a half-trained dog commanded to sit by an unsure master." (Misspelled in graphic but fine in manuscript I promise)
STARTING COUNT - 0
END GOAL - 9,300
TODAY'S PROGRESS - 432

Pitching by the cast’s red flags Kai 🚩 couldn’t recognise a red flag if it hit him. Likes pineapple on pizza. Al 🚩 will never love you more than his need for vengeance. More of a cat person. Emmett 🚩 got punched so hard he fell in love with her. Doesn’t have a licence. #chaospit

The title cover to an agents guide for the project.

The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page.

The words

“An Agent’s guide to” - in glowing orange surrounded by a black box.

“The Dying Religion” - in an echo effect in black and white font surrounded by an orange glow.

“Adult epic fantasy” - in glowing orange surrounded by a black box.BildThe comps & tropes page for the project.

The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page. Every box is black with an orange, dashed border, and the boxes for tropes and comps have the appropriate title, partially intersecting the relevant title. The quotes do not.

Comps:

Kaos, Witcher and Godkiller

The quote “martyr, coward, traitor or fool. Your choice, really, you’ll serve our needs one way or the other.”

The quote “there is only one religion in war, and believe me when it’ll you it’s a godless faith.”

Tropes:

Gods pay their dues

Found family
Heist into hell
Friends to lovers to enemies
Morally grey mc & villain
Magic comes with a priceA villain and hero page for the project.

The hero and villain both have information about the individual characters in two separate black boxes, both with orange dashed borders. The word “hero” and “villain” intersects the relevant boxes (right and left respectively)

The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page.

Villain

The gods killed all he loved
Out for revenge on the gods
Brainwashed veteran
Waterbender
Raised as cannon fodder
Reborn as propaganda
In love with the hero

Hero:
Raised to be the weapon of the gods
Out to destroy the institution that forged him
Guilt ridden veteran
Electricity bender
Raised as cannon fodder
Remade as a national threat (not what graphic says but need to resave that one)
In love with the villain

In the centre is the quote “your first mistake was thinking that people like you and I were ever born to do anything but burn.”

With arrows pointing from hero (the receiver) to the villain (the speaker.)

The Dying Religion- Beyond angsting over a 7 year old breakup, two unqualified gays and a very tired™ himbo have a… unique skill set. and as war returns to their continent - like it or not they’ll be dragged back in. After all, they’ve already killed one God - how hard can 5 more be? #chaospit

A mate and I were discussing Tesla owners getting decals (I think that’s the word) mentioning they got the car before the man lost his last screws and what I came up with was honestly too genius to not share

A “decal” (probs not the word) with an emblem terribly meant to look like a wheel in the background with words reading “just cos I’m a Tesla owner does not mean I suck the muskrat’s boner”

🎉ANNOUNCEMENT TIME🎉 So excited to get to say that I have another book coming out AND that you get to start reading it in just a matter of weeks! BITTERSWEET is a queer, adult Romance ft a trans LI so hot it’ll make a t*rf cry.

Text shows a yellow background with three pink boxes down one side. Each box has a different image over the top: a trans pride flag, a ginger cat and a pink piping bag. Pink text reads ‘Bittersweet: a queer romance about food, flirting and the healing power of queer love. Subtext reads: new chapters weekly on my pay what you can patreon’ Image shows a sunset with white text transposed on top of it. The text reads: Star baker Lenny just left her fiancé, her city and her life of awkwardly B-list celebrity.

Carey just became the U.K.’s first trans chef to win a Michelin star.

Sparks may fly the first time they meet but safe to say, these two are not on the same page. Throw in a pride brunch in peril, the queer found family Lenny never had, the world’s most awful cat and a book proposal that won’t write itself and it looks like these two friends with benefits aren’t ever leaving their hookup phase. But any good baker knows it only takes a little bit of sweetness to fix all that bitter…’

Anyone that peered through the windows to my family home today would have seen me, and my five best friends (yes five) pelting across the house playing hide and seek tig. and honestly it’s the most fun I’ve had in ages.
