Discotek Media@discotekmedia.bsky.social · 2d agoThe only reason the clip from Part Deux was used was because it was a clue for Lupin the Third Part 2. The 'might be a second clue' was a jeep shows up in the clip that looks coincidentally close to the one in the first Part 2 opening.

Visiting Hamanaka Town to see the Monkey Punch Collection last year. Just going off to rural Japan with only a tenuous grasp on the bus schedule with my best friend to see the capitol of Lupin the Third. To see all the other huge fans notes left behind in notebooks at the train station. Pure magic.

The Lupin handheld lives! Playing it briefly, the main point of the game is to shoot out lamps & avoid the guards. Getting caught 3 times ends the game. There are 2 versions of the game mode & also a clock mode that cycles through the sprites. No Lupin midi music, unfortunately!

It’s a Popy Electronics brand handheld game called Lupin the 3rd: Darkness Chateau. The listing says it works so I will need to find some batteries and test it out!

There exists a guide to using word processors by the creator of lupin the third that I have never seen mentioned anywhere. I bet it uses green screen & has super low budget animation on top of how to videos or something. Shame we can't see it.
