fun fact: in France, Google doesn't have any of the AI features yet if you have a VPN, setting it to France completely disables them, even if you're in countries that have those features

Hi. Today I'm showcasing a project I have been working on since December, but I've recently begun to see it's chances of release decrease substantially enough that I'm breaking my "keeping it a secret" rule. You may have been wondering about that "Croissant" thing in my bio.

i've been working on this project for a while (started in June 2025), this is a concept for an open source game mode replacement called ALCI (Another Linux Console Interface) now, I don't know *anything* about code, so this is just a mockup more pictures and more information below ⬇️ (1/3)

addendum that's like 3 months too late: antheas has been kicked out of bazzite, the framework thing is still true but at this point it doesn't matter too much i'm basically back and doing things for them, i'm still using the operating system and i'm excited about OGC

due to the thinly veiled bigotry and generally rude behavior of antheas, alongside the complete lack of a statement about Framework building a Nazi bar, I'll be leaving the Bazzite team for the forseeable future they're still allowed to use my work, but I won't make anything new for them

i think it's useful to look at areas where the *tech* has gotten much better while tech *interactions* have gotten way worse. streaming has gotten worse, google search has gotten worse, digital cameras are leaps better. apple's silicone is so good it's threatening their user upgrade cycle
