In July, Bochum transmitted by far the most data from STEREO-A’s Space Weather Beacon to the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre (SWPC). We have been doing this 24/7 since 2009.

Obviously DSN Madrid is back in business, while DSN Now status display shows offline. Below is Robledo ground station locked-on and doing an uplink sweep. Meanwhile Bochum has been providing space weather beacon data though.

INTA is doing inspections at the site of the NASA DSN site near Madrid Although not sure which building this is, those cable trays and cables show damage, I hope the impact is low but whatever that building is, the repair will not be a 5 minute job... Source: INTA on the other site.

Contrairement aux applications graphiques comme Gpredict , PREDICT reste fidèle à sa philosophie : une application en mode terminal, délibérément allégée, consommant un minimum de ressources, et nativement conçue pour le multi-utilisateur et l'automatisation réseau.

I'll be attending 2026 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference at Whistler, BC. Presenting a paper on the tracking of Blue Ghost where @amsat-dl.org, SEE_Aerospace and I 'ghost' tracked it to inform the utility of 3-way Doppler augmentation. Hoping to see many friends there.

SpaceX a lancé avec succès le vol Transporter-17 Rideshare, une mission de covoiturage à destination d'une orbite héliosynchrone, depuis la base de Vandenberg (Californie), rampe SLC-4E, le 7 juillet 2026 à 07 h 12 UTC. Le premier étage, le propulseur B1097 effectuant son onzième vol, s'est posé sur la barge Of Course I Still Love You dans le Pacifique, tandis que l'étage supérieur a délivré ses 81 charges utiles en orbite polaire, à une inclinaison d'environ 97,7°.

Tianwen-2 sample return mission is expected to arrive at the near Earth asteroid Kamo'oalewa tomorrow (July 4) at a distance of ~20 kilometres. Hopefully we'll also see the first images of the asteroid very soon. mp.weixin.qq.com/s/97RjX0XCVs...

On July 4, Tianwen-2 is expected to approach within 20 km of Kamoʻoalewa, marking the start of the mission's most critical phase after a 13-month journey from its May 2025 launch. Doppler measurements from our 20m Bochum antenna indicate no or only small orbit adjustments during the last few day.

The Tianwen-2 spacecraft seems to have performed another manoeuvre earlier today (22 June). These observations are done by @amsat-dl.org with the 20m dish in Bochum.

Tianwen-2 near #Asteroid Kamoʻoalewa is now over 40 million km away from Bochum and very active over the last couple of days, including orbit maneuvers to further reduce the distance to the asteroid. Thanks to Tammo Jan @radiotelescoop.bsky.social and @telkamp.eu for further Doppler analysis.

Such cool science! Scientists transmitted radio waves from a radio telescope out to one of Jupiter's moons, then received the reflected waves back at multiple telescopes and measured the radio albedo. Using circular polarization, they can measure the transparency of the global ice sheet. 📡
