Did I tell you guys? I am flying down to NC on Wednesday to do some pre-employment tasks. I’m staying with my parents til Friday night. I get to tour the library and meet my new co-workers!

We had such a nice weekend on the CT shore with my parents, stepson, DIL and grandbaby! The Air B&B was perfect, the beach was quiet and sunny, really the only drawback were the lantern flies.

I somehow managed to get myself to an Air B&B with a car full of food but nothing to eat. Absolutely no breakfast food, including milk. Are we a little stressed out about our impending move? Maybe a l’il bit.

So I’m at the only place in New England that does drug screens that the county in NC accepts and I can. Not. Pee. I always have to pee! Anyway, I just chugged 40 oz of water. Let’s do this.

I gave my 2 weeks notice. Only 2 more weeks of dealing with a boss who looks at me like I pissed in his cornflakes. I told him I was starting a new job and he said nothing. Not even "where?" let alone "Congrats." What an ass.

Thinking about Tim Curry brought back a long-forgotten memory of the time I was in a community theatre production of Annie and the fully adult man playing Rooster was screwing around with my 13 yo friend playing Pepper. I have an even vaguer memory of telling him off, but I could have concocted that

My library is getting a $50,000 robot vacuum. My materials budget was just cut in half. Maybe these things aren't connected.

The woman who interviewed me today wished me a week full of library joy and that is like manna in the desert, man. Even if I don't get the job I will keep in mind that there is a better way and I don't always have to be stuck with people who hate libraries and their lives.

I thought I might check out the Indivisible group in my new home but every email they send is illustrated with AI slop. Not cool.

I'm going to start a real estate website called Only Plans and the deal is that you can only post your house if there's a detailed floor plan. Stop making me guess where everything is!

I go into state during job interviews where I cannot remember anything I said afterwards. So was it a good interview? I don’t know. They seem cool, but I could have been babbling like an idiot.

I need to call this confusing library and I hate phone calls, especially when I'm not sure if I did something wrong or not. But its's been 4 hours since my interview was supposed to be and I still haven't heard from them. TBH, this is a red flag. I was hoping I'd get a job offer and now Idk.

My job interview this morning was a disaster. I was there early, as usual. I clicked on the Teams link and got put in a meeting. I waited for 10 minutes and they never showed up. No emails, no calls. I stopped Teams, clicked the link, same thing. It says someone will let me in soon. I keep emailing

I don’t know why there’s so much hate for Canva. Yes, it has a lot of AI, but as of now it’s avoidable and you can design some nice stuff. It’s all I use at work and I don’t think it looks like slop.

The other day a group of tweens were asking who John Mayer is and I told them “oh, he was popular in the mid-aughts.” Did I stop there? No, I was compelled to tell them my only John Mayer fact: he continued to hang with Jessica Simpson’s folks after they broke up. Thank you, Sarah Marshall.

My spouse is frustrated because I did something very autistic. I know it seems to him that I did something without thinking, but I just thought about it in a different way. We’re fine. I’m just a bit discombobulated.
