the chess meta is stale. pawns are too weak and boring early game. pawn chains are too strong, and the center matters too much. the right and left pawns should multi attack
Remember the tantrums people threw seeing Tempestuous Kiss?? A mid card for a weak deck? That's the state of FAB discourse now. Everything is broken slop or unplayable. It's either unfair or boring. People were calling this the best meta in history a couple months ago but now everyone is bored.
Good aggro deck? 0 for 4 slop. Good blocking deck? Fatigueslop. Disruptive deck? Uninteractive slop. Y'all couldn't even handle earth heroes needing to decompose to build up to their power card you still called for Felling bans. Now Omens has no standout Ms and idk why anyone is surprised!
Even amidst this meta where people say the game is too weak you STILL see people crying for bans. Anything that does anything remarkable is crucified after it shows a modicum of success. People doom so hard about matchups and metas they don't even try to innovate to beat the top deck they just doom.
Remember when Huntsman first showed up as a viable deck? It was hyped for 1 tournament and then suddenly being called fatigueslop toxic gameplay uninteractive design back to "wahhh assassin codex" memes. Victor saw success and after one tournament everyone was screaming for nerfs.
Ok but how funny would it be if they just reprinted old chane, had no bans, and it broke the format so bad we had world peace in rathe
The current state of FAB is a direct result of the widespread kinds of complaining that were being vocalized online and I'm so tired of people pretending that isn't what caused this. When you amplify complaints to this degree everything gets flattened to appease people who hate anything strong.
I've been feeling this creep in for a while now. There's been a noticeable shift away from powerful heroes with consistent, even turns in favor of weaker heroes with powerful cards that lead to games feeling more spiky and swingy than they used to. I miss the days of 1 life to 1 life slugfests.
