To be perfectly clear, "welcome to womanhood" in the context of a trans woman facing misogyny (and almost any other context) is transphobic AF

Legislating reforms to social media platforms to make them safer for young people would be great. Attempting to ban them outright is ignorant and dangerous.
Social media is a crucial lifeline for queer kids. Introducing barriers to this essential resource is a shameful capitulation to right wing luddites. Our most vulnerable kids will be harmed by this decision, not helped.

Vic Pride Centre is, frustratingly, out of step with the community... TGV had community orgs (specifically Dykes on Bikes & Rainbow Community Angels) - not police - as security for the Gender Revel Gala on Nov 1st. When it comes down to it, we can't rely on vicpol to keep us safe, and we know that.
