It was a great night at the Franklin County Missouri Democrats annual Carnahan Dinner! Our keynote speaker was Jess Piper who never fails to get me fired up and ready to work. We also got to hear from 6 candidates who will be on Franklin County ballots this November. We are ready to flip some seats!

I know how important schools are to our state. I also know what it is to have tight budgets. If you are trying to stretch your dollars, don't fund non-public schools with vouchers. We need to fully fund our public schools if we want to encourage young families to stay in or move to Missouri.

We need to stop the insanity of voting on an issue and electing a person who won't support our vote so that the vote is undone. We have tried this for 20 years, and it gets frustrating.

I went to Jeff City to be a voice for those who couldn't make it today. Here's the scoop: 1. RMV had the petition reviewed and approved for circulation 2. It got over 367,000 3. Hoskins holds it for 3 MONTHS and says that the petition breaks a rule and won't be on the Nov ballot. 😡

We followed the rules. Now Denny Hoskins won't do his job. We need to elect people who respect us and listen to our voices in November. We deserve better representation and we have the power to get it one election at a time. Until then, I hope you will join me in fighting to protect our voices.

I was 6 in 1976 and knew it was a big deal. The special quarters proved it. On the 250th birthday of the USA. I see flaws in our government. I am glad that we still have the power to correct these flaws and continue the work of creating the country that was dreamed of on that day 250 years ago.

I have been knocking doors for 3 weeks. At every door, I end by asking if the people have heard about the amendments on the August Ballot. I explain amendments 4 &5 and ask the voter to make sure to get out and vote in August. Please talk to people in your circles and ask them to do the same.
