The Green Party stands for human rights for all. Today, we oppose the EHRC (Equality & Human Rights Commission) guidance to defend trans rights and protect dignity for everyone in our community. Join us today Thursday the 9th at City Hall, 6pm. See you there! 🏳️⚧️💚 #transdefiance
🚨 WE NEED YOU 🚨 As a new Prime Minister comes into power, we want to show that an overwhelming number of people support trans people, and want the government to take serious action to protect their rights. Will you say you stand with trans people? And share with everyone you know?

It's funny how being a husband and father only becomes the most important job men can have after they've been forced out of their 'proper' jobs
While I've been out striding this past few weeks Mick has got very accustomed to stealing my chair! If someone chips in the last £25 so I reach my target maybe he'll give it back (wishful thinking I know). medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/amy-benso...
I keep getting "No one's watching your live stream" (to the tune of seven nation army) stuck in my head 😂
Thanks to everyone who came out to say Sheffield is an anti-racist city proud of its diversity 🌍❤️ Police were shameful — despite warnings, they allowed far-right protesters to march on the refugee hotel, escorting ~100–150 through the city. Shame on them. #Sheffield #StandUpToRacism

Speed for Lovers and Jarg Armani at Mary St Live. A lot of fun and a new venue for me.
It would be bad enough if they'd been convicted of terrorism for damage to property to try to prevent genocide, but to sentence them as terrorists when they weren't convicted for it is ludicrous and appalling 😡
BREAKING: Judge Johnson has confirmed the Filton Four will be sentenced based on a 'terrorist connection'. This heart breaking news comes despite the protestors never being charged or convicted of terror offences or violent intent. For more info: defendourjuries.net/savinglives/
Do any gig-going Sheffield folk know if Mary St Live has a bar or if it's BYOB?

Punk (and a bit of nu metal) in the afternoon at Zephy's. Not sure I'm down with the matinee gig concept but it's a nice venue and Under the Influence and Quick Romance were great.
The government: don't do racism. But also don't do anti-racism. FFS.
Trips to Padley Gorge and Stanage edge this weekend to get in some kms for Stride for Palestinians. Also got to eat ice cream with friends and be bossed around by a 3 yr old 😂 medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/amy-benso...
I'm 67km into the Stride for Palestinians, most of which has been finding creatively inefficient ways to walk to the shops. Meanwhile, the MAP's work remains vital. If you can spare it please consider donating medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/amy-benso... (🇨🇦🪿 seen while striding)
Sometimes as an NYT books columnist you find yourself quoted in the Atlantic by Helen Lewis, who believes two odd things: 1. That nobody is reading Pratchett anymore (instead of all the time, as they should), and 2. That Pratchett’s politics are hard to pin down, and Reg Shoe is not a fucking hero.
"The Labour government has made a choice, one rooted in the patriarchy, to further police women’s bodies and exclude people who do not conform to arbitrary standards of femininity. We reject their Code of Practice and the colonial, misogynistic, sexist, and transphobic assumptions they employ" 1.
The UK Government’s new Code of Practice offers cruelty, not clarity. Despite promises and spin to the contrary, this is a bathroom ban and a huge rollback for human rights in the UK. Read now: transactual.org.uk/blog/2026/05...
One of the things I hate most* is that all of this awfulness is done in the name of protecting cis women like me. It's such bullshit. I've never felt threatened by or even uncomfortable sharing space with anyone trans. (* apart from the effect it has on trans people living their lives obvs)
