Okay so I haven't opened this or read the story, but uhhh Paul Weiss was the tobacco industry's favorite attorney and is now one of the top firms for oil majors (Exxon is a client)...in what universe were they ever not going to "surrender" to Trump? They're on the same team!

Screen capture of an email promoting a New York Times story with the headline "Why Paul Weiss surrendered to Trump"

men are clearly not conditioned to doubt their intelligence and it shows. I don't know that it would be helpful for *everyone* to have the same "is this dumb? it's probably dumb" censor that most women i know have in their heads, but damn a little bit of it might be nice.

I wonder, if you polled people, how much extra they would pay each year to have their city *not* be covered in thick, choking wildfire smoke for days at a time. I wonder if that might give you more insight into "willingness to pay" vis a vis climate change than asking in the abstract.

The famous "Wedges" paper was used repeatedly to shut us up when we argued against the continued use of fossil fuels, and, esp, against carbon capture and storage and the mass use of bioenergy. "But these eminent scientists say ..." Now we learn BP co-authored it. www.propublica.org/article/wedg...

How BP Execs Influenced a Climate Study That Shaped a Generation of Global Policy

BP sponsored an elite Princeton research center to address the climate problem without getting off fossil fuels. Its key work, a paper known as “Wedges,” guided climate discourse for a generation.

The craziest thing about this is that the supposed justification was that the men here raped a white woman. Meanwhile, the star of the film, Armie Hammer, was credibly accused of rape by his ex girlfriend, a white woman. The irony here is lost on the right.

This is a scene from "Citizen Vigilante," the film Elon Musk posted in full on his account. The main character goes around murdering Muslims and immigrants and collectively blaming them for crime.
