Typification of Three Names in Salvia (Lamiaceae) Published by George Bentham

As part of a revisionary study of the genus Salvia (Lamiaceae) in India, names of the three taxa of Salvia distributed in India and validated by George Bentham based on N. Wallich's collections are typified here. We found the previously designated lectotype of S. campanulata Wall. ex Benth. to be in serious conflict with the protologue and it is revised to maintain the current usage of the name. A second-step lectotype is designated for S. moorcroftiana Wall. ex Benth, as it was not properly done before. For S. saxicola Wall. ex Benth. no previous effective lectotypification was traced, so a lectotype is designated here.
