50/60 ‘Star Trek IV The Voyage Home’ aka the one with the whales🐋Managing to wrap up a trilogy of movies while being one of the most accessible pieces of #StarTrek is quite the feat. The time travel element is here, it has something it wants to say, the beloved ensemble shines and it’s comedic gold🐋
49/60 ‘The Cloud Minders’ Going back to original #StarTrek and a very good season 3 episode. It’s not particularly subtle, but the message of unity, empathy and equity between the miners and inhabitants of Stratos is an important one 🤝 Good performances from both guests stars and our regular crew 🖖
Next week I’ll be traveling to the big #StarTrek convention in Las Vegas. I am super excited about the fun, and seeing friends who’ll also be attending. There is one photo-op I’m getting, and that is Scott Bakula. Yes, he is Capt. Archer, but I love Quantum Leap and Dr. Sam Beckett even more ❤️

48/60 ‘Critical Care’ one of #StarTrek, not to mention Voyager’s most pointed ‘issue’ episodes. As a citizen of a country with a very different healthcare system than the US I am deeply saddened by the relevance of the issues presented here, and the fact that it’s just gotten even more so 💔
47/60 ‘Terrarium’ The most recent episode on the list (spoilers🤫) with a very classic #StarTrek message. The basic premise has been done before, but this is the best executed imo. Also finally getting #moretegas was such a treat. Season 3 of SNW might have had more peaks and valleys, still good Trek
One of the cast recordings I have listened to the most is ‘Something Rotten!’ Not every single song is amazing, but so many are catchy to the extreme and hilariously funny. I’m so glad I decided to check it out. Even without being able to see it, live or filmed in some way, it’s too good to miss 🍅🎭🎶

46/60 ‘The Sound of Her Voice’ Two very separate, different and excellent episode plots. Quark and Odo are always delightful together and here Kira and Jake get in on the back-and-forth. The rest of the crew get wonderful introspective character focus and a guest star making an impact in voice-over⭐️

45/60 ‘E²’ Returning to #StarTrek Enterprise and the Xindi arc. The shortest title in the franchise gives us a wonderful time-travel story with family feels. It also balances the serialized and episodic elements pretty well. In summary: one of my favorite Enterprise episodes ❤️

44/60 ‘Sarek’ Mark Lenard as the Vulcan ambassador is such great casting. Giving Spock’s dad a story that makes the audience an emotional mess, wonderful idea brilliantly executed. Once again Sir Patrick Stewart gets to shine as well. #StarTrek stuff is going on, but the emotions make the episode 🖖
I’ve always found history pretty interesting, and do enjoy a good period drama. So it was not a surprise when I recently watched ‘Death By Lightning’ and thought it was really good. It takes what is usually a footnote and brings the story forward so it can be remembered in future. The performances 🤌
43/60 ‘Children of Time’ This is one of several pieces of the puzzle that is Odo and Kira’s relationship and sits between ’Crossfire’ and ‘His Way’. The ending is DS9 making the kind of choices that makes it unique from other #StarTrek 💔❤️ We also have enough good and compelling for our other friends
More magical realism than sci-fi #BookSky, in my latest read. At times such a dark and grim story, necessitated by the subject matter, but the characters are so very human. Even Death itself as the narrator. A heavy read, beautifully written and with glimmers of kindness, perseverance and hope 📚

15 years ago this fall, a friend introduced me to #DoctorWho. She showed me ‘The 11th Hour’ and Matt Smith became MY Doctor. With the situation the show is in now, I’m considering a rewatch 👀
