I’ve never been a fan of pickles, but all of a sudden I am ALL IN on cornichons. Pickle juice martinis with cornichons garnish. Cornichons straight from the jar. I don’t know what’s happening. Maybe I’ll like olives next.
Grateful to have a spouse I can come home and sob directly into for a full two minutes straight when work was real bad
3 big writing rejections in 3 days, could really use a win right now tbh
Feels like a promising pull for the upcoming week! What I love about @rosalarian.bsky.social’s tarot deck so much is how clear the message behind each illustration is, even if you don’t have the meaning of each card memorized well yet.
My husband and I like to make aviation cocktails sometimes, except we bought a red cherry liqueur instead of clear maraschino liqueur, so they are unfortunately a cloudy gray rather than the traditional lavender hue. We call them “dirty mop water” (Tastes fucking great though)
I am going to write a play that takes place in a Spirit Halloween
Lord grant me the confidence of any person who feels that the entire train car wants to listen to their music
The managers of two pretty big-name actresses requested to read BREAST IN SHOW within less than a week of each other 🤯 This movie will get made because I say it will! (I will succeed because I am insane, etc)
Screenwriting pals - who's going to AFF this year? I'm still on the fence (waiting to see if my short is selected or if I place in the script competition)
Currently ✨manifesting✨ that I’ll next encounter the Mullally-Offermans at some awards show when they’re both in the running for acting and I’m in the running for writing and we have this amazing 2026 Chicago Summer Reunion and honestly we’re all just happy to see each other
I think my main problem is that I want to make most of my money from my Fun Work (writing) while also supplementing from my Also Fun Work (dressing in a live theater capacity) and like am I simply having too much fun? Is that a thing? Is my life too whimsical???
The first time I ever paid my literary manager anything, it was $5 off of a $50 playwriting stipend. Soon I’ll be paying him $25, and I’m promising him now that there are more zeroes to come 🤣
Working as a stylist at a bridal shop was simultaneously among the best and among the worst jobs I’ve ever had. The good days were SO good, playing dress up with people who were so excited to be there. The worst… well. Maybe there’s a feature in that world lol
Got a disappointing answer to a question I posed someone today, and even though it wasn't what I wanted to hear, I so deeply appreciate that this person was direct and honest with me (while still being kind). I feel like this person respects me because of their response!
When I was in first grade I wanted to be a “ballerina scientist” when I grew up, because I guess even at age six I knew a career in the arts was unstable and would require a day job
Sometimes it’s fun to act like a tourist in your own city
I don’t know when romance started to look like my partner staying up after midnight on a weeknight so we can drink whiskey and eat fresh cherries in the kitchen together when I get home from work, but I love it so much I almost don’t want to name it for fear of it going away
Just accidentally made eye contact with a man on the train and realized I was making this exact face: 😠 Sorry bro I’m not mad at you my face just does that sometimes
Just got a very soft, very kind, very supportive rejection. Ouch owie oof, okay on to the next!
Brb gonna apply for a grant to develop a former CVS into a performance space and I’m not joking
I think it’s weirdly one of my favorite feelings when I get a note from a writing peer and it unlocks that “omg how didn’t I see this before” feeling Like criticisms can be uncomfortable sometimes but sometimes they’re fun and make me excited for the next draft!
A piece of my lore that I don’t think everyone knows is that I’m emetophobic (fear of vomit) It’s moderate but decently controlled, not severe But I swear the fuck to god if these Lollapalooza kids break my streak of never seeing someone vomit on my train ride home I will RIOT
Is it really not common knowledge that if you don’t plan on walking up an escalator, you should keep to the right and let people pass you on the left? And two people shouldn’t stop on one stair so nobody can pass? Like howwww do so many people on my daily commute not know this
Thanks to Lollapalooza it just took me an hour and a half to get home from work instead of the usual ~40 minutes by train. Decompressing with a late night snack. Gluten-free biscuits, spicy honey, and cheap red wine.
Happy (roughly) 11th birthday to my sweet, neurotic girl! I don’t know what I would do without her.
Oh hey, turns out I don't have uterine cancer, so that was cool to find out! 🥳🎉🪩🍾
Today I found a listing for a fellowship through Princeton University that pays $90,000 for a ten-month process where you create new art of your choosing and can I just say the way I read it a dozen times because it feels too good to be true?? I won’t get it but I’m gonna apply!
It’s so deeply strange to look outside of myself and see me as the adult in certain work situations Like not even in an “omg I’m adulting” way. Like, I am the grown up here and I handled that in a grown up way. Fucking wild.
