Saw Bowling For Soup play 1985 live last night, which means it’s time to remind you that it has now been longer since that song first came out than it was between that song and the actual year 1985
For everyone either complaining (or celebrating) that the DNC is "broke" take a look at this chart comparing DNC finances during this cycle to the post-2016 cycle. Whatever Ken Martin's weaknesses might be, fundraising is not one of them. $100 million more raised this cycle than post-2016.
Many headlines are being written about South Carolina going first, but I feel not enough focus has been put on our historic decision to expand the window to six states! It creates a proving ground that sharpens our candidates while making sure our entire coalition is represented.
BREAKING: We just announced the DNC’s proposed 2028 Democratic presidential primary early window states.
So very proud of my friend @michaelkapp.com who worked so incredibly hard to expand our early state window to six states. The committee just adopted his amendment, which will vastly improve the rigorousness and diversity of our early window proving ground!
Checking in from DC this morning for the beginning of a two day DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. The real fireworks will be tomorrow - determining the states that will go early, before Super Tuesday, in the 2028 Presidential Primary, and who will be first.
Quietly and without much fanfare to be honest, but we just adopted our Call to Convention keeping the first ballot ban for automatic delegates. Not that I thought the ban had a chance to go away, but superdelegates are one of the more common topics people talk with me about.

Thoroughly enjoyed Backrooms, fits perfectly into my growing collection of “the horror of incomprehensible scale,” which has really been hitting hard for me lately.
Day two - time to hear from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Nevada, and New Mexico!
In DC this week for the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee, hearing from the 12 states bidding to appear early in 2028. What am I’m looking for in an early state? Competitive and diverse. Looking forward to hearing from states about how they’ll contribute towards those goals!

Surely I wouldn’t develop that much of an obsession right

Toddler got viscerally upset when we asked her what Pokemon she would be, insisting that she is not a Pokemon and she only wants to be Spider-Man.
Our DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) meeting is about to begin so we can discuss the delegate selection rules for 2028! I’m setting the over/under at 5.5 hours - do y’all think we get out while the sun is still up?
My two year old seems to have gotten unstuck from time or at the least developed some kind of prescience, because she now claims things like “when I was older, I got tattoos.”
This time next week, I will be headed to New Orleans for the DNC’s 2026 Spring Meeting. Thankfully, I booked well before the current spike in fuel prices, but that still doesn’t make flight and hotel cheap. 1/5
