It was great to help launch the BRDG in the city centre today alongside Peterborough College. The launch was part of our NEET summit looking at how we support and create opportunities for 16-24 year olds in Peterborough. Photos - Peter Oliver

⭐️ He Is Risen ⭐️ The light after the dark. Easter is a time of hope, renewal and forgiveness. May your Easter be peaceful. And a special thank you to all everyone working today, especially those in the NHS and emergency services looking after us 🙏

It was a joy to catch up with Faustina Yang this week ❤️🙏 Faustina has just been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Peterborough City Council for her contribution to so many community causes. Brilliant to catch up, chat, talk Tai Chi and plan how we are going to work together this year.

At long last! The CCTV at the Chadburn Centre is finally working again. I visited with the neighbourhood police team to take a look and chat about policing priorities. Thanks to councillors, police & residents for raising this with me 🙏

A few days ago I had the pleasure of thanking volunteers involved in the annual Diwali celebrations in Cathedral Square. I love the mix of faiths & communities across the city. And Diwali a highlight. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish a happy Holi to our Hindu community in Peterborough.

I started the day at Bushfield Academy with Bridget Phillipson i for the launch of the Education White Paper. It was brilliant Peterborough was picked for the launch. Our schools are on the up. And we have so much ambition for our city to fix broken SEND system & improve standards

This world can be wicked at the moment. I hope the news that the body of Ran Gvili - the final hostage held by Hamas - has been recovered will bring some sort of peace. My prayers with Ran and his loved ones. The last hostage is returning home.

Getting some good ideas to improve Paston at our Pride in Place event this morning. We have £20 million for community investment in Paston, Gunthorpe and parts of Dogsthorpe over next 10 years. Thanks to the police, councillors and residents for contributing today.

How long has the stink being going on Bourges Boulevard? This week I got everyone involved in the same room so we could look at the problem together and come up with a plan to finally deal with this. Thanks to Anglian Water, Highways, council, Peterborough Positive for coming together.

A really positive start to Friday with business leaders, developers & local government talking about the growth potential for Peterborough. This is all about partnership - local leaders, Mayor, MPs & Government working together.

I hosted the first of my New Year community Pride in Place meetings on the Welland this weekend. It is brilliant to be working with residents across Paston, Gunthorpe and Dogsthorpe to share ideas about how we should use the £20 million Pride in Place investment in the area over the next ten years.

I ended my first week back for the New Year with some of the team at Peterborough Foodbank. I am really pleased that the government has agreed to lift the two child benefit cap. This will help nearly 10,000 children across city. No child should have to go to bed cold or hungry.

🇦🇺 Australian War Memorial 🇦🇺 It was a privilege to pay my respects at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra today. As we approach Remembrance Sunday I asked for time in my itinerary to pay my respects at the war memorial. It was a powerful tribute.

⭐️ Helping Sue Ryder ⭐️ We all love Sue Ryder in Peterborough and know how important they are to so many families. So it was a pleasure to join the team at City of Peterborough Tennis Club again for their Sue Ryder fundraiser.

⭐️ Peterborough Lido ⭐️ It’s not all work no play. With friends in the city today, a visit to our Lido. A jewel we need to celebrate - especially as it turns 90 next year. 🏊🏊🏊🏊🏊
