#timeTravelAuthors D5 "A sour taste filled my mouth. Monks. That figured. Orléans was crawling with them. They were like cockroaches around here. Big, dangerous cockroaches that scuttled under the protection of their religion any time they felt threatened."

#TimeTravelAuthors D3 My MMC lives in an ambiguous city in New York State, particularly around White Plains. My FMC lives in Virginia, close to Hot Springs. As a Canadian, I originally had my MMC as a Canadian, but story logistics made it necessary to convert him to an American.
This is such a great way for authors and readers to connect. I've signed up!

#TimeTravelAuthors D29 "My hands trembled so badly that I could barely grip the reins of my horse. The penalty for traitors was death. I had to prove my innocence. But how? I didn’t even know what I was accused of. [. . .] If the king didn’t believe me, I wouldn’t live past tonight."
#TimeTravelAuthors D27 The time travel never surprises me. I meticulously research each time period, and spend way too much time agonizing over the slightest historical detail. What surprises me sometimes is the writing. I might read a sentence and think "Wow. Did I actually write that?"
#TimeTravelAuthors D23 (a bit behind because of vacation) Tips for writing time travel? Don't mess with the time stream. I remember watching the show Timeless and thinking "This show is trash" because of how badly they butchered the time stream. You don't want your readers thinking that.
#TimeTravelAuthors D21 (a bit behind because of vacation) My MCs are always travelling back in time to fix "glitches" that threaten to alter history. I describe my series as "Quantum Leap meets Harry Potter". In book 1, they have to make sure Harold Godwinson loses the Battle of Hastings.
“post a picture of yourself in sunglasses” I pretty much wear sunglasses all the time outside since I have photophobia. But here's one of my favourites.

Hey everyone! It's my birthday week. And do you know what I would love? Reviews!!! (Not on me personally, but on my books.) Great reviews: -Help keep books in stores -Encourage the magic algorithms -Provide assurance to potential readers If you liked my books, please consider leaving a review.
Of all the things to be ranked #1 in the world for, I can't think of much worse. 🙁 Right now outside my window everything is dark with a yellow tinge. And even inside and with air conditioning on my throat is scratchy. And outside? A strong smell of burning wood. 🌲🔥🌲🔥🌲🔥

#TimeTravelAuthors D7 I spent a very rainy week in Wales once. My experience made its way into The Celtic Deception. "Thick, dark clouds hung low in the sky, threatening rain..." "A light rain fell, each drop hissing as it hit the huge fire..." "...her dress clung to her skin from the rain."

QTP with a gif of your first gaming console 🎮 Apple II+. My favourite game every was Wizardry. No wimpy respawn. No maps drawn for you--you had to draw them yourself. It was harsh and unforgiving and made you fear each encounter but cheer each victory. (No gif because the game is THAT old)
QTP with a gif of your first gaming console 🎮 The humble Mega Drive, back when I turned 7. I clearly recall doing pretty okay at Sonic 1 and getting my flippers handed to me in Ecco 😂
Dumb spam of the day!! The "Smutty Book Club" wants my YA Historical Fiction to be part of their club? Yeah . . . I can see that going well. 😅 Not to mention they have selections for "June 20". Um . . . excuse Mr/Mrs Spammer, but we're in July. Try harder next time. #writesky #WritingCommunity
#TimeTravelAuthors D5 "A wave of dizziness knocked me to my knees. A second later, my stomach heaved, and the remains of my lunch splattered across the grass. I fought through the nausea and, with shaking legs, forced myself back to my feet."
#TimeTravelAuthors D3 Here's Dan self-assessment of his looks: "I hadn’t changed much since that picture had been taken. It showed a teenager with dirty-blond hair, an unsmiling face, and bored blue eyes. Not one of my better looks." As for Sam, he's much more appreciative of her looks.
#TimeTravelAuthors D1 When history is threatened, the world needs a hero. They need a strong, decisive, person who can face the battles and personalities of the past and set history back on course. Unfortunately, they're all busy, so we're stuck with . . . Dan?
My meeting at work was a bit dry, so what do I do? I harrass spammers! 😀

#TimeTravelAuthors D23 Whenever my MCs are in history, the translator will translate all local speech contraction free. (Although my modern-day MCs still use contractions.) And the historical speakers use more formal diction, while my MCs will use slang.
#TimeTravelAuthors D21 Parents feature a lot in my story. Between them, my two teen protagonists in The Last Saxon King have: 1 dead father 1 criticially injured father 1 dead mother 1 uncaring mother 1 creepy step-dad So a lot of their actions in the books are influenced by their home lives.

#TimeTravelAuthors D19 My characters travel through both time and space. They're always on earth, but that's about the only limit. They never know where or when in history they are until they land--and then the fun begins!
Name a TV show you're positive no one remembers but you. Starblazers. A Japanese cartoon in the 80s where they resurrected the sunken World War 2 battleship Yamato and turned it into a starship. I loved watching this show, and all the other 80s Japanese cartoons.
Name a TV show you're positive no one remembers but you. Tru Calling. Started watching late in the first season (it had a full season and then I think 6 episodes of S2 before it got cancelled mid-season). Really enjoyed it at the time, though. I liked time travel stories 20 years ago? Who knew?
