My #CDFriday belongs to @suedehq.bsky.social in honour of their Mercury Music Prize nomination. It is a treasure that they're still making such exciting music this far along. And they remain a tremendous force live.

This seems up your alley, @brucelevenstein.bsky.social. I suspect you may already have it. I stumbled upon my copy last night and played it for the first time in 20 years. The New Order/Terranova track is an exclusive, ambient remix of "Elegia". #NewOrder
Well you don't get a tan like this for nothing.
more than decent..... I haven't got a single problem.
Not bad in Monterey Bay today. It almost feels like summer. Took a bike ride along the coastal trail but also cruised by Friendly Plaza downtown. Have you heard of the "Moon Tree"? #MoonTree
The curious case of 𝘊𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 & 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘦 85. Faced with buying another reissue of the CD, I opted for the Japanese pressing with a bonus "Perfect Way" mix. Except on arrival, I realized the bonus mix was not on the disc but via download. Hey, at least I got an obi and a postcard of Green. #CDFriday
As with CD Friday, Echo & the Bunnymen get the spotlight for this week's edition of #WeekendSingles. @bunnymen.com
@nationoflanguage.bsky.social at Ventura Music Hall last night. Their live shows are always such a wonderful experience. Pro tip: Get your merch early. The lines are long with the recently converted afterwards.
A beautiful, haunting song from @nationoflanguage.bsky.social ahead of their headline tour that kicks off this week way out west. I'm excited to be taking in the three California dates.
Stream the B-side of @nationoflanguage.bsky.social's “Tougher Than the Rest” 7” single called “The Conversation,” an unreleased track from the Dance Called Memory sessions music.subpop.com/nationoflang...
The debut album from #Doublespeak sounds exactly (and as good) as you would imagine, but I feel slightly unsatisfied that it's strictly cover versions. In order to get original music from them, I purchased a green, old-timey gramophone thing. The bonus CD single is well worth it. #WeekendSingles
I don't recall culling my Arctic Monkeys CD singles but there were only two remaining (along with 3 of The Last Shadow Puppets). All the CD albums were still there. Anyhoo! I'm probably just getting senile. Here they are with a couple of Erasure singles that I missed last week. #WeekendSingles
@starckclub.bsky.social, Highly recommended.
Colourbox 4 CD box set. There's a lot here (everything they released plus additional mixes, radio sessions, etc) but it's a shame there wasn't more output from them at the time. They were such an eclectic group that it felt like there were no limits to what they could do. #CDFriday
The languid pace of much of Mazzy Star's output seems well-suited to the elevated temperatures many are dealing with this summer. I only have their first 3 CDs (I'm happy to hear recommendations on their 4th) so included 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 & 𝘋𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥, which Hope sang on. #CDFriday
The single from new group #Doublespeak sounds very promising. I'm hearing a @nationoflanguage.bsky.social influence. youtu.be/irJcqZxa-JE?...

A selection of CD's from The Church. They might sing it's "Already Yesterday", but #CDFriday is still in full swing out here in California.
I haven't raved about 𝘐𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 by #BrigitteCallsMeBaby lately. But it struck me upon hearing this song (a mere "album track") today that it appears to have emerged from a netherworld somewhere in-between 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥 by #TheSmiths and 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 by #TheCars. youtu.be/qhC_3PUEsHA?...

I'm too lazy to make a new post for the anniversary, but cheers. #TheSmiths
Before I purchased my first CD player in early 1987, I had my mind set on New Order's Low-Life being my first disc. But it wasn't easy to track down at that time so I settled for my second choice, The Queen is Dead. I hung on to that CD until this lovely set appeared in 2017. #CDFriday
