Why yes, I have been listening to that one Tame Impala song ever since seeing Spider-Man. A disproportionately big part of my playlist is songs from MCU/James Gunn movies.

There is an invisible count down with Sony and Marvel. Mark my words they will clone Peter Parker. We will get an MCU Clone Saga.
They let me get a little spicy on main over *that* NYT op-ed. So without further ado…a few cents on David Ellison’s plea to the American people to let him win this round of Monopoly. Full story at the link 👇

Also my headcanon for this isn't that Kingpin is some big ally, its that he knows Matt is catholic and is trying to make him look like an asshole.
It is Marvel comics canon that one of the things that Wilson Fisk/Kingpin has a finger in. Is the clandestine production of black market hormones for trans people, at least till Daredevil raided the lab.

My conspiracy theory is that David Zaslav did this on purpose to fuck over the competition and pay off their own debt with another studio's money. If I'm even a tiny bit right, that would be the greatest ruse in the history of cinema. LMFAO
I don't mean to alarm, but I feel like we haven't heard from Kanye in a suspiciously long amount of time. Something big and stupid is coming, I can feel it in my bones.
I think the most existentially exhausting part of the whole Trump 2 era. Is that he's doing the exact shit that I and a lot of people have been saying he would do, that we've been saying for a decade now. And it took so long to get here that society had multiple attempts to prevent this.
Oh wow if this is accurate than this is gonna be a bloodbath, I don't think this deal is actually gonna happen. Regardless of Trump and the Ellisons involvement. I think Paramount is gonna pull out..
The antitrust trial for the Warner Bros/Paramount merger will take place in March 2027. Paramount must begin paying WB shareholders $7M a day on Sept. 30 until the deal is complete.
I like that BND establishes that not only do Heroes have shippers who want to see them get with a villian. But also that those shippers have a very robust fan art community that is implied to be kinda smutty. It's feels very Marvel being the world outside your window.
If that is the case, than I'm willing to bet everyone currently writing an MCU project is wondering how they can add an X-Man to their project.
Destin Daniel Cretton says that he asked for Jean Grey to be in ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’. “It was not a mandate, it was a request. We asked.” (Source: www.thewrap.com/creative-con...)
Good, there are some traditions you don't skip, The Classic is one of those.
That is in shockingly bad taste, and this is coming from someone who owns a shirt that accuses Godzilla and Megalon of 9-11.
Oh my god I think I found the video.
One thing that bothered me about Cap Amer: BNW is the ending. Why would they incarcerate The Leader in the same facility as Red Hulk. Sam visits them, they're both on The Raft, it seems like a mistake to house the hyper intelligent mutate with the person he turned into a Hulk.
I honestly want to know what Ryan Coogler's opinion on Marvel's Blade situation are. Because I don't see a reality where Feige didn't ask Coogler's help. Especially after he turned a scrapped attempt's assets into the best film of 2025, and also a vampire movie Sinners.
Spider-Man: BND spoilers. I think one of the moments that got me the most was when they recreated that Civil War panel of Punisher carrying Peter to the ER. This movie is probably my favorite Jon Bernthal Punisher appearance, I really like the vibe he and Spidey have.
Honestly, if Sony was a smart and not shamelessly greedy and evil company, they'd be doing everything in their power to keep relations with Marvel Studios. No more character embargos, or absurd rules about showing Spidey or making references to him. But Sony is stupid, greedy and evil so 💁
I will say I have a recency bias for MCU Spider-Man, where every new movie is better than the last. But the transition from No Way Home to Brand New Day feels like a significant jump. It finally feels like we're at the Spider-Man that the Home trilogy was building to.
Spoilers for Spider-Man Brand New Day. So Peter inventing universal mutation inhibitors and than handing that tech over to DODC is absolutely gonna cause problems going forward. Much like the Multiverse they're using Spidey to hint at what comes next.
Ah yes, its time bi-annual event of Ryan Murphy's straight up unethical handling of true crime. He's already romantized the killer, invented incestuous relationships and demonized real people by turning them into fictional accomplices.
First poster for Ryan Murphy's ‘MONSTER: THE LIZZIE BORDEN STORY’. The series follows Lizzie Borden who was accused of murdering her father & stepmother with an axe inside the family home. Releasing September 17 on Netflix.
One thing I really loved about Brand New Day was how Peter handles romantic rejection and consent in regards to MJ. Peter is no Bear "whats so wrong with being with me?" And handles this very messy situation like an actual adult. Better than the other broken hearted memories gone Peter of the MCU
A situation that sucks is I'm really hyped on Spider-Man, but the exact opposite of hyped on Sony, who are just the worst company by like every available metric. Like i want this Spider-Man movie to do well, I just don't want Sony to get a win.
I think one of the reasons Spider-Man BND is hitting so well, is that people are tired of watching heroes learn to be their iconic selves. People want the full iconic versions and for the most part BND delivers. This is the same reasoning I'm not really hyped on the Reeves Batman stuff.
For me Guardians of the Galaxy is the best trilogy in the MCU. Steve Cap trilogy wandering into Avenger-lite territory. Ironman and Thor both have really bad part 2s. Spider-Man Home trilogy isn't quite there and The Avengers doesn't feel like traditional trilogy.
The MCU will never do the Death of Gwen Stacy, even if Sony loses the rights tomorrow and Marvel gains full control over Spidey. If there is ever an MCU Gwen, she will be Ghost-Spider/Spider-Gwen. And she will probably end up being a Miles supporting character.
I'm sick of the Spider-Man pointing meme, may I suggest ample eyebrows, villainous Spider-man from 3 Dev Adam as a replacement Spidey meme. This Spider-Man kills people by feeling them to attack guinea pigs with tubes, come on thats fun.
My internal indicators for if the James Gunn DCU has any legs to stand on is if he puts Batman in Man of Tomorrow. Because it shows me that he feels like he might never get a chance to do Batman if he doesn't do it now (time of release) .
Mark my words, by the time Marvel is willing to let Tom Holland retire as Spider-Man, they will let me direct a Spider-Man/MCU movie.
Libs not being weirdly homophobic when talking about Trump challenge: impossible.
