Laika has released a new poster for Wildwood. It's crazy knowing how long this has been in development after being announced five years ago and that it's nearly here. Really excited to see what this has in store.

Here are some color keys from Mutant Mayhem painted by Kellan Jett. I love this take on the Ninja Turtles so much with their goofy and crazy energy and I think the art really captures it. I can't wait to see them again in the sequel next year.
Almost five years later and it's still such a shame how many great movies were lost because of the closure of Blue Sky Studios. Although some of the projects died before the closure, I will always wonder how they could've turned out knowing how great Nimona was. We'll never know.
Trying to make anything AI-related to anyone is already bad enough, but trying to get kids to indulge in it is a special level of low. You might as well be treating them like idiots in doing so and children should never be exploited like that.
It's been a while since I saw a company shoot themselves in the foot badly and Sony doing that with their stupid physical media phase out for PlayStation and stubbornly refusing to move after the backlash is just bewildering. I hope the blowback is harder than before.
Movies deserve to be released in theaters, movies and shows deserve to be released outside of streamers exclusively, and movies and shows deserve to be released on physical media for people to own. They shouldn't be kept locked up in one specific place.
After a stupid move to streaming as well as an unfortunate leak, the new animated film based on Nickelodeon's most beloved series has finally dropped. And it's one that does have a lot of fun. Anyway, here's my review of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender.

Here's some concept art of the Abstract Thought scene from Inside Out painted by Albert Lozano. This scene in the film really does feel like a nice tribute to Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, as it does feel something out of their shorts The Dot and the Line and High Note.
The animation of the marching cards from Alice in Wonderland still amazes me. It's almost seventy five years old and still shines all these years later. Hand-drawn animation just rules.
If there's an animated film from this decade I recommend for its surreal visuals, it's Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds. I really adore this animated film from France and it has some incredible fantasy and some of the most gorgeous psychedelic animated images I've seen. Love it.
This is the best possible news we could've gotten. This merger would've been a disaster and I'm glad it got thrown the biggest hurdle possible. Let's hope it keeps getting thrown pit traps so that way it never gets through and dies. Either way, massive sigh of relief.
The Paramount and Warner Bros merger is officially on hold. The merger will not move forward until June 1, 2027 OR until the courts provide a ruling on the lawsuits facing the merger.
One thing I love about the Kung Fu Panda films is how great the character designs are. You can feel Nico Marlet's touch in the final film with the way he designs these characters and it really helps make this world so unique and special.
The final trailer for Coyote Vs Acme just dropped today and seeing this finally start to come out is so amazing to me. The film really looks hilarious and a great use of the Looney Tunes and I'm so grateful that it's coming to theaters after all it went through. I'm so hyped!

We need great art more than ever at times like this and artists who work tirelessly to create to bring us great movies, TV, music, games, and more really are the backbone that gives us inspiration for the world we know. The higher-ups don't understand that and they have to.
It's genuinely despicable that after giving studios hits, execs pay back animators by firing them. It's such an unfair enviornent and these companies never treat their studios or employees fairly. I feel awful for everyone laid off at Pixar right now. Just heartbreaking.
Yesteday marked my tenth anniversary since I started reviewing animation. I can't believe that I've gotten here, but I'm more than grateful for this wonderful journey it has brought me with the films I watched and the great people I've met. Thank you so much for ten great years.
I let out a massive sigh of relief seeing this. It’s a step in the right direction to make sure this Paramount/Warner Bros merger doesn’t go through though there’s still more to do. I hope it stays blocked since it’ll really damage a lot and that the fight stays strong.
NEW YORK (AP) — Judge says Paramount and Warner must halt merger for at least two weeks, granting states' request.
Twenty five years ago today, Spirited Away was released in Japan. One of Studio Ghibli's most beloved films, this Oscar winning film from Hayao Miyazaki is a huge treat with its beautiful fantasy, serene imagery, and rich characters. One of the best animated films ever made.
If there's a segment in Fantasia that's always been a personal favorite of mine, it's the Nutcracker Suite. I love Tchaikovsky's music and the animation really is just simply divine with how luscious it is. Just a brilliant pairing of music and film.
I want to give some love to Robot Dreams. It's still one of the biggest animated films of this decade that both made my heart sing and ripped it apart at the same time. It's a beautiful and yet melancholic film and one of my favorites of the decade so far.
I’m not surprised but still equally disgusted hearing Netflix use generative AI in their films and shows as of late. It’s just appalling and disgraceful to the hard working artists working in film and television and Netflix should be ashamed for using it. It’s not the future.
I found out not too long ago that the famous scene with Mufasa's ghost in The Lion King was mainly designed by Chris Sanders and I found concept art of his work on that scene. It explained so much when I found out.
Fifteen years ago today, Winnie the Pooh was released. The latest hand-drawn film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, this is such a lovable take on the silly old bear which has some great animation and songs as well as a lot of hilarious humor. I really love this one.
Mergers and acquisitions are not helpful for anyone in Hollywood. All they do is cancel promising projects, put more people out of work, and just make awful billionaires richer. They need to be stopped so it doesn't lead to more damage to the film industry.
Sony Pictures Animation has officially confirmed they’re making a fifth Hotel Transylvania. The film will be titled The Haunting Of Hotel Transylvania and will be released on October 5, 2027. I’m surprised they’re making another one, but I guess we’ll see how this turns out.
Finally, some good news. I hope this takes down this horrible merger once and for all. It has to be stopped.
A coalition of 12 states have filed a lawsuit to block the Warner Bros & Paramount merger The states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington
Andreas Deja animated some great characters at Disney Animation. Such a talent.
For fourteen years, Disney released a handful of animated sequels straight to video to their classics that have become infamous. But are they really that bad? Join me in my latest video essay on my journey of Decoding Disney's Direct-to-Video Sequels.

It's fascinating hearing things about the Circle 7 version of Monsters Inc 2, but knowing what I know about their infamous versions of Toy Story 3 and Finding Nemo 2 we could've gotten, I'm not mad we lost out on this and that Pixar made their own sequels themselves.
New details on the canceled ‘MONSTERS, INC. 2’ film: • Mike gets married. • Sulley gets promoted. • An older Boo reenters their lives. (via www.thewrap.com/creative-con...)
