The Big, Ugly Bill that Republicans passed last year included billions of dollars of cuts to SNAP funding. In response, states are increasing paperwork and decreasing staff at SNAP offices which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of eligible SNAP recipients being kicked off of the program.

It’s been one year since HR 1 passed at the federal level and it’s time to look back at some of its most harmful provisions and funding cuts. This bill has already done damage to our healthcare system. Our goal should be to create a healthcare system that works for all of us.
The changes the Big, Ugly Bill made to Medicaid and the ACA are already being felt in Ohio. Unfortunately even more funding cuts will happen after the midterms. Remember this is what the GOP passed without a single democratic vote! #medicaid #healthcare #aca

Here’s an update on the final version of SB 315, which Gov. DeWine signed it into law this week. I voted no on this bill because I felt the process was rushed, and the voices of the disability rights community had been unfairly left out of the beginning of the drafting process.
In response to the SCOTUS decision I want to be clear on protecting our fellow LGBTQ+ Ohioans. Everyone deserves a government that will focus on creating a more equitable state for all.

I’m not going to hail Barrett and Roberts for allowing us to count our votes. It’s a huge win for democracy, but it shouldn’t have even been a question. That we were one vote away from disenfranchising votes is all the more reason to expand the court in 2029.
Healthcare costs are rising at unsustainable levels. Everyone is healthier when they have access to affordable care. Medical bankruptcy is a uniquely American problem. In Ohio, my colleagues and I have introduced a broader healthcare affordability package to address this issue.
Today we celebrate that love conquers all. Without the voice and courage of one brave Ohioan who took on unfair laws, we would not have marriage equality. This case is a true testament to how one person can make a huge impact. #LoveWins #PrideMonth #LGBTQRights
