Northern European history geek happily marooned in Athens. Write to keep my sanity. Enjoy music and a good story - on page or screen - best savoured with a glass of wine or two. Travelling is my favourite way to meet people and explore new places.

Mum collapsed at home this morning and is now in the stroke unit. The doctors suspect a stroke or another neurological issue, and she'll have an MRI tomorrow. We've cancelled our trip to Kythera waiting for news to see what to do. That. Fuck.

I just completely fucked my long-suffering shoulder again by killing a cockroach in the bathroom with a full-force swing of my flip-flop. A modern heroine… or an idiot, depending how you look at it. 🙄

Had a gazillion dreams last night. In one of them, you needed one of your grandmother’s old silver spoons as currency to buy a mug of coffee. How do our brains come up with this shit? 😂 Morning! 😘

Post your TV/Film crush from your younger years, you say. Oh, okay then … the first that springs to mind is... James Dean. He was already gone 14 years before I was even born, but I still had a huge crush on him after watching his three films. Posters over my bed level.

Post your TV/Film crush from your younger years, you say. Oh, okay then … the first that springs to mind is Matt Dillon 😍 Here he is in The Flamingo Kid. I was thirteen & I adored him. I had this exact poster on my wall. He's in his sixties now & I'm still a fan *swoon*

We’ve just been told that Mr K’s grandfather’s village was destroyed in one of the big wildfires here today. Cousins have lost their homes, and a beautiful valley has been devastated. 😔

N got her Bachelor’s degree - 10/10! 🥹 I couldn’t be happier for her. More than anything, I hope this makes her believe in herself a little more and realise just how capable she is. So, so proud of you, kiddo. Love you to bits! 💙 Oh, and Morning! 😘

Since I was a kid, each season has always had its own very specific feeling for me. Winter feels cosy, spring hopeful, summer lighthearted, and autumn like settling back into routine. I’ve always found it rather astonishing that, all these years later, those feelings really haven’t changed much.
