We live in an insane reality: well-known TV host Vakho Sanaia has been sentenced to 14 days in prison over a Facebook post in which he jokingly urged people to stop insulting Georgian Dream leaders after the ruling party criminalized insulting posts.

Political prisoner Saba Skhvitaridze, who is being held in solitary confinement, says he was punished for saying “hello” to another prisoner during his allotted walking time. He has not yet been informed what the punishment entails, whether restrictions on phone calls or other measures.
Political prisoners serving their sentences at Gldani Prison have had their phone calls restricted to once every 10 days.
Georgian Dream is now considering criminalizing the non-recognition of the so-called government, which means this very sentence could soon land me in jail. I’ve honestly lost count of how many laws now officially classify me as a criminal in Georgia.
