I've been seeing a lot of people responding to this with "there ought to be a law," but importantly, we haven't needed a law for this sort of thing because no prior president wanted to be known as a leader who would literally kill people in their hour of need for not voting for him

Dr. Fauci is a hero. He really is. He helped guide America thru a mass death event. Millions more could have died but they did not, thanks to him. Everyone over 70 owes him a debt. It is disgusting that we live in a country that not only dishonors him but actively smears his good name.
You have much more power than the people in charge of Washington want you to believe. 100 days from today comes the best chance we’ve had in a long time to use it. Let’s get to work.

Marmor was such a constructive presence. In giving feedback he helped often younger scholars get on firmer ground. Like we were all in this together and should lift one another up. So incisive, but also approachable and humorous. He will be missed and remembered.

First, I believe he had salt, not meth in his car. Second, I would not care if he did have meth. There's no law in this country that allows law enforcement to murder someone for drug possession. The correct answer to the allegation is, "Stop deflecting."

His family said it was a total falsehood; it was a bag of salt to be used to make an electrolyte drink. And they were right. It was not drugs.
A reminder that UC _faculty_ and Faculty Associations — not the universities themselves nor their administrators — are waging this battle in court, demonstrating great bravery and moral clarity.

I attended one of the most diverse universities in the country. Univ. of Houston. In my dorm one year, there were 30 women on my floor. And those 30 women represented 16 countries. It was an extraordinary education because of that diversity. I also paid $500 per semester.

I cross-referenced my database of candidates against credible voter fraud cases. GOP politicians are implicated at 50x–38,000x the general public's rate. Yet even if every American voted with the integrity of a GOP candidate, it still wouldn't come close to justifying making voting one iota harder.

The problem with universities is that they produced things like the science predicting climate change and the science that race is a social construction and not predictive of anything other than discrimination. Maybe universities are under attack for their successes, not their failures.

Both the Times and the Post are saying Trump "Fell Far Short" or "Stops Short" or providing evidence of election tampering. These are lousy euphemisms that do not tell the reader the actual state of the evidence, and imply that evidence of a broken election system actually exists. It doesn't.
