Capitalism would work better if we kept profits under control by taxing excess wealth and profits so no one can pay off government leaders into working for them and not the people. Also, elections should be publicly financed. With the same amount of money to spend, the best ideas would win.

We’ll soon grow the Innovative Urban Village to 2,000 affordable homes, child care, jobs, a grocery store and a performing arts center. That’s what it looks like to build a city without pricing out the working class.

This is exactly what happens unless the government sets tight rules on the capitalist system. Once the rich can manipulate the people in government, the corruption accelerates. The easiest solution: raise taxes on the very wealthy so they do not have enough money to game the system.
