The WSJ reports T**** has embarked on an unprecedented fundraising campaign. Apparently he doesn’t know he can’t take his billions, his gilded ballroom, his gilded arch, his golf courses, his gold toilets, his gold drapes, or the rest of his gilded junk with him — when, not if, he leaves this earth.
The news articles about the Dem party’s poverty and despair miss the point. Many of us like specific candidates and donate directly to them. We may not be thrilled with the party but we want our candidates to win.
I could not possibly agree more. Many Americans, including me, are discovering that we’re Canadian at heart.

I’m watching Kegsbreath (et al.) being questioned by a Senate committee about their request for billions more in extra appropriations. He’s spewing lies and the Senators (except Durbin) are not following up and challenging the false, misleading, or evasive answers. Without that, it’s pointless.
Many people are not being deported but are sent to hellhole prisons in this country. Most of them have no criminal records except for being here without authorization. Many are here WITH authorization. Some are even US citizens. And the plan is that many of us are next.

Why did T say he wouldn’t sign the housing bill unless Congress passed the SAVE voter suppression bill? T looks at every request as an opportunity to deal. His first impulse is “What can I get for this?” It’s always a chance to grab something.
The US started this misbegotten war in Iran because Bibi got T to start it. Now T knows he’s up shit’s creek* and wants Bibi to stop shooting and help him get out of the war, and he’s trapped and terminally terrified because Bibi is screwing up his escape. *So are the rest of us, not that he cares.

It's an old trick. First propose an abjectly unqualified, terrible candidate (Pulte, housing finance guy). Then, when even your own R servants rebel, withdraw the name and name someone who is also unqualified (Clayton, no national intelligence experience as required by law) but not quite as awful./
Progressives, it’s time to stop arguing about who would be a more ideal, perfect candidate than the ones who have already won the Dem primaries. It’s too late to keep having that conversation. You go to war with the army you’ve got, so close ranks and fight!
Graham Platner is a flawed candidate. But if we don’t take the Senate, the courts — the only branch that (mostly) tells the truth and follows the law — will be lost, and maybe democracy with them. As Platner said, he will be a Senator for people who don’t have enough money to buy one for themselves.
