Wrapping up my first week in China and heading back to Sydney on the red eye. I am seriously craving some bland food 🍞

I do not have an account on X. I deleted it a long time ago.

We heard you. We agree. In light of recent developments in physical media, GitHub is proud to announce that you can now obtain your public repo on CD-ROM. Keep it. Lend it to friends. Pass it on to your children. Your code is physically yours, forever. Until you lose it, let's be real. gh.io/cd

I couldn’t work out how to renew my IDA license so I’m using Excel formulas as a disassembler.
I’m in the Bay Area for the next fortnight. It’s ACMs inaugural Conference for AI and Agentic Systems (CAIS) starting tomorrow. Week of workshops ahead. Then I’m up in SF next week for Microsoft #Build

Here is my talk from NDC expressing all of my current thoughts on LLMs as software engineers. It also explains the prime minister of Australia was not a meat pie and why that's important for the maintainability of our software in the coming years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wQd...

Congrats to all the Arsenal fans. They deserved this one.
There is nothing more humbling than reading peer review feedback.
Iirc this was about 50KM into the ride which is why I look very over it
I'm not going to #PyConUS this year. The only way I could go was to tack it onto an existing 2-week trip and I really don't want to spend 3 weeks away from home. I'll miss everyone.
Good start to my 40’s setting several PBs on the MTB 🚲 . Fastest 40k & 50k times. Beat my course time on a 67km race by 20 mins. Still plenty of space for improvement next year if I find the time to train properly.
I want to work at Anthropic for 1 day so I can tell Claude to stop doing inline imports in Python.
I'm doing a talk on LLMs being bad software engineers tomorrow. In particular I'll be going on a rant about why SWE-Bench results are nonsense. The left is the actual patch, the right is one "passing" solution I saw. A lot of the patches look like this. The tests pass, but the code is garbage.
Sunrises are great but I still don’t think it justifies getting up this early. Also kudos to the surfers out there <6am. Aka “breakfast time” 🦈
Started the day in the ocean for 3 hours with the kids. Surfing, swimming and boogie boarding
