The future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union. It is the most important geopolitical investment we can do. In these uncertain times, more than ever, we need to work together. I am looking forward to our EU-#WesternBalkans summit on 18 December in Brussels.

The end of Assad’s dictatorship is a positive and long-awaited development. It also shows the weakness of Assad’s backers, Russia and Iran. Our priority is to ensure security in the region. I will work with all the constructive partners, in Syria and in the region.

Courage in the face of adversity. Resilience after the shock. The inauguration of Notre-Dame is a tribute to the tenacity of the French people, who were able to raise one of the symbols of European culture from the ashes.

Social dialogue is the bedrock of our European model and an imperative for tackling today’s challenges. As problems vary, we need tailored reforms and investments.
