This Iran War and its effects on the global economy are dumb, but also, just saying: EVs can charge for $0.20/kWh this weekend at IONNA. Roughly analogous to $1.48/Gal gas for a fleet average car.

Interesting quirk of The Social Network/Reckoning: both actors are older than the real-life Mark Zuckerberg. Like born before the real person, whom they're portraying in past events. I was curious how often this happens; found a good reddit thread that points to about a dozen examples.

I'm trying to make the idea of "Suburban Brainrot" a thing. A broad term to describe the personality quirks of suburban residents. Examples: - NIMBYism (obviously) - Excessive focus/gossip over what the neighbors are up to - Only capable of framing stuff in terms of how it affects them personally

I was trying to explain Nolan's Tenet to someone, and settled on "It's like the opening scene in Dark Knight Rises, where it's an impressive action sequence, but it makes no goddamn sense when you try to tease out the logic of it."

Evening everyone, It’s true… CA SB 868 has passed! The most populated states plug in solar bill is now on Governor Newsom’s desk! Congratulations are in order to the 39 million increasing their access to plug-in solar! Governor Newsom, you know what to do. Thanks everyone for the support!

Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.

Reading up on foam cannons - basically blasting your car with soap before a hand wash. I wondered about the water runoff - all this stuff goes straight into a storm drain if you're washing in the driveway. As far as I can tell, detailers solve this issue through a technique called "not caring".

I wonder what would happen if the DNC invested all their resources in trying to flip one single red state. Like if a billion-dollar campaign apparatus went all in on winning Wyoming. Would it work?

Solid point I have to keep reminding myself of: what you pay attention to forms your reality. It doesn't mean bad stuff isn't happening; but you will never get to the bottom of the barrel of outrage, and it will trick you into depriving yourself of life-saving joy and meaning.

This piece is good and correct, but here's the thing: So is the therapist. You have to log off. You have to touch grass. You have to ride your bike. You have to hang with your buds and talk about the local sports team. You can't make them go away but you CAN decide if they consume your life.
