August is here and it brings some nice events that everyone can observe! In just one day you can witness: A partial solar eclipse☀️ The perseid maximum💫 A planetary parade🪐! Dont forget your protective glasses for the eclipse! We wish you good weather and a nice view!🍻 -Astronomy on Tap Graz Team

Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune rise in the morning sky12th of August: solar eclipse
Begin: 19:24 CEST
Maximum: 20:11 CEST 
End: 20:14 CEST
The eclipse will be partially visible from all of Austria. Don't forget to use protective glasses to view the eclipse!12th of August: Perseid peak
The meteor shower begins in early August and reaches its maximum in the early morning hours of the 13th. It's visible until the 15th.

School’s out, summer is here! ☀️🏖️ The weather is too nice now to NOT spend more time outdoors, so AoT Graz will be taking a summer break! 😎 We will be back in September with some extra beer and some fancy science! Enjoy your summers everyone, we will see you all in a few months!

Europa may be hiding a global salty ocean beneath its icy crust 🌊 This could explain why Europa seems to have it's own magnetic field, unusual for a moon! Keep an eye out next week when we announce the topics and speakers for Astronomy on Tap on 31st March! 👀

Did you know?
Shown is a picture of Jupiter's icy moon Europa.Jupiter's moon Europa may contain more water than all of Earth's oceans combined!
Apart from the ice cracks we see on the surface, the distortions in the magnetic field of Jupiter indicate that Europa has a giant subsurface ocean.
