Off the top of my head, Philippe Mexes injured his eyes by staying in a tanning bed too long without eye protection.

Bringing Lukaku on in the 60th minute. Can he really go 30 plus stoppage? He's either going to score the winning goal or have a heart attack on the field. There's no in between.
My grandmother was married 5 times to 3 men. When she got married for the fifth time, the local paper ran a fairly unflattering feature about it. It was the mid 1950s, but it was still pretty gratuitous given that she was not an important person in any way.

I just found out Mickey Rooney was married 8 times to 8 women during the same time period. Not only did he not get roasted, I never heard about it. Gee, I wonder why.

Come on, we're not special, this is FIFA, this is usual host-FIFA corruption, this isn't even the first time this World Cup--Ronaldo! Not that big of a deal.
I'll add that he's deprived the team of the opportunity to achieve an epic victory. Winning despite missing their best goal scorer due to terrible officiating would have been a legendary moment for the USMutantNinjaTurtles. Now the best they can do is win a game people will see as rigged.

He's essentially politicised the team through tainting them with his corruption. The rest of the world is now rooting for Belgium tonight for political reasons. That's not how sport should be.
That Italy is no longer a proper football nation anymore is shocking. But not half as shocking as the fact that it is suddenly a tennis powerhouse.

As a historian of early modern Europe, I just want to say how grateful I am to get to see an actual schism. I'm hoping we get to see a full blown interdict before this is over. Also just wondering how many of the Swiss Guards are from the now schismatic congregations?
The kid is unbelievable. And he was first up too. You have to feel for the rest of the field who watched that and knew they were all just fighting for second place at that point.
