At today’s Annual Organizational Meeting, the School Board approved a four-year renewal of Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán’s contract, extending his leadership through 2030. We look forward to continuing our work together to support APS students, staff, and families.

At today’s Annual Organizational Meeting, Miranda Turner was elected Chair & Kathleen Clark was elected Vice-Chair of the Arlington School Board for the 2026–27 school year. Congratulations to both! At tonight’s School Board meeting, the Collective Bargaining Agreement for AEA Support Staff was officially signed by the Superintendent and the AEA President. This agreement reflects our shared commitment to supporting APS employees and fostering a positive working environment. #APSisAwesome

Some of the SB Office staff toured the Grace Hopper facilities this morning! From the EMT classroom with a full ambulance interior setup to the beautiful fourth-floor views of the DC skyline, the new space is amazing. We can’t wait for students to use these facilities and all they’ll learn there.

At this evening’s SB meeting, we recognized the Arlington Career Center Space Force JROTC Cadets for their dedication and hard work, including those graduating this year. Their Presentation of Colors continues to be one of the favorite parts of our SB meetings. Congratulations, cadets!
