Groans. He's back... For now.
" Okay, Miss Mysterious. I'm sure that's sooooo true. " His mask eyes squinted playfully as he leant up against the counter. " I can run off and change if you're soooo desperate to know who's under the mask. I'm sure I can trust you. " Since he's friends with her mother, at least.
βNah,β she shrugged, βyou probably shouldn't trust me at all, really. I have a lot of mysterious aura and I can't have people ruining that by letting them get to know me.β While her smoothie was being made, she sported an impish grin.
I did my time as a photojournalist. Never again, pal.

He stepped forward, handing over the payment plus tip for the other, and then he turned to face Hallie. " Well, yknow. Don't know you fully. Can I trust you with that kind of secret? " He let out a quiet chuckle at this. He honestly just hadn't thought of changing out of costume.
banana smoothie and stepped aside to let him pay.
" Doctor Richards. One of the brightest minds in the multiverse, honestly. " He smiled, moving through the door and walking over to the counter. " Go ahead, get what you like, and I'm sorry again for the last one. "
"You have a friend named reed? Like, the green stick thing?" she teased, opening the door for him.
" I guess not all rich people are inherently bad though, I mean, Reed is pretty cool. " He shurgged his shoulders as they started to approach a small store. " But people like Fisk shouldn't be allowed into any power. I can definitely agree with that insight. "
"That's my point," she gave him a sharp look, "you guys are still riddled with capitalism and it is ruining everything. Guys like Fisk get rich because there's a system to manipulate, because the foundation of the system is an inherently predatory, annihilating nightmare of greed."

( LILITH. ) Thank you to Char for giving me this.
" Hah, and you think that's a good thing? " He couldn't help but burst out laughing to himself about this. " Oh, that's funny. Most rich people I know are either supervillains or create one. " He speaks, forgetting HE is rich in his own timeline.
Hallie made a so-so gesture with her hand, walking alongside him and matching his pace as well as she could. "I mean, I could, but like, compared to this it's kind of depressing. I actually left because it was super boring. You guys still have capitalism and rich people and stuff."
He started walking alongside her, looking out for the place he had in mind as they moved. " So... What? You might not even exist in this timeline? " He frowned under the mask, thinking to himself. " Guess we have something in common then. So, if I'm not from this universe and you're from a β
weren't just standing still.
" Well, that'd be difficult. It's a long story. " He frowned, thinking of the easiest way to explain this. " I'm FROM this earth, this universe, but from a time when the universe got... folded in on itself. We just call it Warp World now. Not even sure I CAN get back to my world, but I've got β
"Right." Hallie turned to Arachknight. "Which one are you from? Why don't we go there?"
" Hallie. Got it. " He looked around, wondering if this world was similar to his. If so then, yes, he knew a spot. " Follow me. " He gestured and started walking down the street. " Not exactly from around here, more of a... version of here. "
"Hallie Sinclair," she swooped into a deep bow, one arm out like she was a ballerina. "Just call me Hallie. It's not my real name but it's the closest anyone here will ever get." The teen straightened, then sighed. "I have no idea where a good smoothie shop might be. Are you from around here?"
He landed with grace, cheering until he heard the thud and rushed over, sighing to himself. " Jeez, thought you were seriously hurt for a second. " Although the wink had caught him off guard, he just let out a small laugh. " Yeah, yeah. I'll even let you pick the place since I ruined your β
nowhere near as severe as it should've been, but he had been the clear winner. "Sure, you win, and you treat me to a smoothie and a snack! I'm one lucky girl." She winked and all the static electricity in the area dispersed - and her hair never frizzed, thankfully.
" You can teleport, seems like an unfair advantage, but sure. " He laughed and then instantly dived off of the roof, pointing his body to reduce air resistant and slowing his fall as he got closer to ground.
"Race you down?" Hallie's apparent mood faded at the snap of the proverbial finger, and she picked up her phone and made it disappear, then teetered at the edge of the building, waiting for his response.
" Woah, woah, take a breath! " He put his hands up in a jokey surrender, looking down at the dropped smoothie, then shook his head with a sigh. " I'll buy you a new smoothie, maybe a snack to go with it? Peace offering! I'm not trying to annoy you, I just wanted to make sure you're okay. " Heβ
one! (&#$!" Hallie straightened, crossing her arms glumly over her red tank-top, which had a tiny "π" in the center of the chest. Abruptly, she pointed at Arachknight. "You owe me a new smoothie, dude."
" No, they don't, but knights do! " He let out a little chuckle, shifting down to stand next to her and folding his arms. " Oh, I can climb walls, swing from a web, do everything an arachnid might! " Red hair... chatty... This was probably the girl he was looking for.
"Arachknight?" she scoffed, then stood up, impatiently brushing some red hair out of her face. Brown eyes intently studied him and she scrutinized his armor. "Spiders don't really wear armor, you know? How'd you even get up here, anyway?"
" JEEZ- " She almost startled him into falling as well. He took a breath and shook his head. " Arachknight. Just saw someone up here and was... checking you were safe is all. Everything good? Sorry for the scare. "
"AHHH!!" The smoothie went flying from her hand, and so did her phone. Hallie turned and looked at him, then disappeared, reappearing a split second later in the same spot with her phone. "Geez, dude, who the #%* are you!?"
Is that... a figure on top of the building? Better check that out fast! He's swinging up! Okay, play it cool. " Uhhh... What are you doing up here? "
And looking out at an ad on her phone with HER FACE ON IT after Mayor Fisk's interview...
Aaaaand as he promised, he's swinging around and looking around for a chatty girl with red hair. Not much to go on, but... it's a start.
" Red hair. Chatty. Got it. If I see her, I'll try and keep her in one place for a while. " He gave a thumbs up to Cienn. " I'll go have a swing around, see if I bump into anyone, yeah? I got this! "
"Red hair, very confident, very flirty." A bit of exhaustion seeped into her voice and she sighed. "I can teleport around via shadow. She can just teleport. Anywhere. It's- she's a headache to keep track of. But she's also a chatterbox, so, you just get her talking and she'll stick around."
