Found another trove of old photos and negatives in my parents storage in need of scanning (there goes my free time for a couple weeks). Love seeing my first PC desk/setup. I’d recognize the Test Drive III code wheel anywhere.

About 36 years ago, my brother and I were standing in a Toys”R”Us and needed to align on the next new NES game our parents would get us. I fought for Kemco’s Superman, being obsessed with the movies, while my brother tried to convince me that Super Mario Bros 3 was better. Forgive me, bro.

It feels like I’m back in college, apart from the fact that this iPod classic is solid brass and glass. A fun mod, not really intended to be on the go (250g 😬), but breathes new life into a device someone dumped on ebay because of failing a HDD and battery

After 14 years of excellent, dependable brain-draining, I’m finally retiring my beloved ST60 55” Panny Plasma in favor of a new 4K OLED with modern features. If anyone I know in the bay would make good use of the plasma and let it burn out its final years in dignity, I’d love to find it a good home

There are few things that have remained exactly as cool to me as an adult as they did when I was little but I have to give it up for laminating paper. It’s like tossing a boomerang into the fairy fountain; it feels magical coming out the other side.

I rarely stop a movie before it’s through, even when I’m not feeling it, but good lord, I don’t think I can get all the way through Tron: Ares. How did we go from Legacy to this?

I think it’s finally come into focus for me why I find so much satisfaction tinkering with Pi devices. I spent an hour tonight getting Ubuntu set up on a laptop enclosure for the CM5, built and installed a custom battery driver someone made, setup flathub and installed libreoffice via flatpak 1/

I honestly never thought I’d get around to this aluminum hinged GBA SP mod but for whatever reason, tonight, I had the courage to start it. Nice to see it all come together well (and hey, it works!)

Probably because it hit at a formative time and nothing felt remotely as immersive to me back then, even today when I wake up to a gloomy cloudy drizzly sky, I can hear Daggerfall music in my head. The Unity port is amazing on a 90fps Steam Deck OLED display btw.
