Delighted to visit @rcpsgheritage.bsky.social to see their copy of ‘Birds of America’ by John James Audubon. A remarkable book, but the real highlight was the building itself and an opportunity to ask questions of the wonderfully knowledgeable staff. Glasgow is full of wee heritage gems like this.

Bonn boasts a wealth of museums. For my final day I did about four of them, including Bundes Kunstmuseum, Beethoven House and the Landesmuseum. The last one hosts another favourite Late Roman artefact. A 4th century dice tower! The inscription reads: "Picts defeated Enemy Destroyed Play at ease!"

Awful news about the Aberlemno 3 Pictish stone. HES surely will reconsider how these stones are preserved. Putting the box on them always felt like an anachronism. But so much of their charm will be lost if this and their setting is changed. www.scotsman.com/heritage-and...
