I had the opportunity to set up a display as an author to spromote my book at West Side Comic Con. But after a discussion with my financial advisor (wife) I realized I couldn't justify the costs of the fees with food, lodging, parking, etc. When I publish more of my series, I'll try again.

Had a great time at the Endless Wonders Book Fest. Saw some awesome people, got to talk about my book, and felt completely outclassed by how incredibly well-designed and gorgeous the other stalls were. I think it will be easier when I have more of my series published.

Setting up for another author interview in a couple hours, making plans for being a vendor at a book fair this weekend, and I just got an email inviting me to register for another book fair in Lebanon in February. Starting to feel like a real author with a real schedule!

Another happy reader. Another reason to make damn sure I keep working on these books. "I was immediately drawn to the character of Angel and wanted to know more about her and her arc didn't disappoint! I loved how her story unfolded." This in particular made me smile. #Booksky

I had a wonderful interview with Travel Time Stories With Shannon today. Delightfully surprised at how much they are enjoying my book while relating to the characters. I want to give a passionate thank-you for their taking the time to interview me and have me on their program! #Booksky

*Sees a post asking for book recommendations* Whats this? Could they a new reader? Someone who leaves a glowing review? My new fan who screams about my books into the vast universe until the end of time itself?! *Sees the account is yet another person selling services* ...nevermind. #Booksky

Since the Kobo CEO has been active on social media, I thought this would be a good time to remind everyone that my novel "Archblade: Legend of the Defiler" is available on Kobo Plus. Scifi/Fantasy with Romance, Adventure, Sword/Sorcery and an epic battle of good vs evil. Check it out! #Booksky

Authors, if someone wants you to post/share your book or links, always check their account first. If they say some crap like "Marketing" or "Helping authors grow their brand." Then they just want to sell you services you don't need. We all deserve better. #Booksky

I am excited to share that I will be at the Endless Wonders Book Fest! It's an awesome event featuring Pacific Northwest authors, book signings, creators, and workshops. I'll be there selling and signing copies, answering questions, and just chatting to anyone! #Booksky

One thing I am loving about writing the 3rd book in my series is it focuses a lot on characters I mentioned at the very beginning of the first book, and I've been wanting to expand on them for the longest time. Maybe a tease? Maybe a non-spoiler update? Maybe a random post. #Booksky

Went to the state fair yesterday and saw an "Old time" photo vendor. One of the options was vikings and to my surprise, my lovely and introverted wife was incredibly excited for the idea! We got a fantastic shot that I am shamelessly showing off everywhere (with her permission, of course.)

First Dolly Parton, and now Tim Curry? I mean, good for them for making 80, but they are such awesome people with a great impact on the world (Especially Dolly). Life is so unfair in that the best people are lost to us while the bitter and most destructive people get to live seemingly forever.

It's difficult to give so much to get nothing in return. I have lost count of the number of times I have given a free copy of my book only to get ghosted. I know many folks are sincere about helping indie authors and grow the book community. It's just hard to stay optimistic sometimes. #booksky

I love it when folks say they will add my book to their TBR. While yes, it might be there forever in the endless sea of unknown stories, it also means that it deserves to stand out enough for them to be interested. Anything can make it jump to the top of the list. #Booksky

I am constantly reminded of the inexorable ravages of time... *The feeling of stiffness after a gaming session. *My son asking me "Do you know what clickbait is, dad?" *Some dude looking at my 8-bit art Dungeon Crawler Carl shirt and saying "I love seeing old folks wearing shirts with retro art!"

This new trend of readers/influencers/reviewers declaring their love of indie authors and working with them for free is heartwarming. My feed is full of new folks to follow and check out their content. Doubt I'll be one of the lucky few to be selected but you never know!

I am finally getting accepted to participate in proper book festivals that will require me to sell my own copies! Fellow authors, what is the commonly accepted methods of doing this? Do folks just venmo money? Do you set up a card readers on your phone? Any tips would be appreciated. #Booksky

I LOVE seeing all the posts about opening new Bookstores, indie Bookstores throwing events or just wanting readers and authors to come by. But why can't any of them be close to me?! I live in F-ing Oregon. You'd think there would be a new book store popping up here every day. #Booksky
