I also think a lot of rm devs should see their initial code as mvp. A draft. Once it's finished and works, step back and think how to refactor it for scalability. If I fear a bug makes it unusable then the architecture is fragile and needs work.

There's a lot of successful games made w/ RPGMaker. It feels weird when I hear the "last succesful RM game" is OMORI. It's not. Drapline, Slow living with princess and your turn to die - Aren't they highly successful rpg maker games? Having thousand of reviews in Steam is already a good barometer.
