Luke. Librarian. Nerd. Good at words. Terrible at Bluesky. He/him. Bi/pan/whatever.

Question for the article author: Why would I read anything you write, as you admit to lacking a grasp of the English language and offloading your object permanence to a computer? What human experience can I possibly gain from your work? And did you even TRY one of the many existing reading guides?

Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...

Axios: AI has become my reading buddy as I've plowed through my summer book list, helping me keep track of plots and characters, unpack themes, and make sense of wordy, old prose.

Why it matters: The way many of us actually read books — a few pages before bed, a chapter at the beach, another on a plane — makes it easy to lose the thread. AI can help you pick it back up without starting over.
📖 I really got into using AI while reading James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last of the Mohicans." The text was far too dense for casual vacation reading. My first prompt asked:

"I'd like a guide as I read The Last of the Mohicans who can help me understand what I've read and where the story is, without giving spoilers or getting ahead of my progress. Can you do this, chapter by chapter?"
The robot agreed: "Cooper's sentences are long and his diction is archaic."

Remember that these people's entire business model is reliant on folks calling them out publicly on their bullshit to boost their engagement! Never ignore hate & transphobia - but remember not do it in a way they benefit from, like replying, quote tweeting or engaging directly. Block first!

I’M FINALLY OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS AGAIN! After a cat cancer scare, surgery, infection, and heal-up and then a horrible inner ear infection of my own I NEED INCOME (BADLY) and can make some dope art for you in exchange! No NSFW, no AI ever Email or DM me to discuss what you’d like 👍

My 2026 Commission chart showcasing what I offer and the prices related to them. My old logo resides in the top left, showing my name, "Jeff Pennington" being abducted in a tractor beam by a ufo, with 2026 Commissions next to it. My icon has a little word bubble coming from it that says "Welp!" Next to that some contact info reads:
BlueSky @jeffpennington.art
Insta @_JeffPennington
jeffpennington.art (which is my website)
In the middle center, my contact information is clearly displayed as "contact@jeffpennington.art" where you can e-mail me for commissions.

Democrats to me, a 40 year old to their left: whoa there junior, the adults in the room are talking. Why don’t you cool your jets and let common sense win? Republicans to a 17 year old in a bad suit saying slurs: perfect. Here’s a Ford F350. We will pay you 150k to record TikToks inside it.

The Transformers Apology Tour would have been a lot more palatable if the only thing they'd done was just clipped the scene of Optimus' death and edited in Arcee saying "He's gone into a coma". That's it, that's the one joke, just show it at every convention and on every livestream we're done here.

I feel like people have forgotten that ad blockers weren't popular because people just wanted to get something for free, it's because we can't trust ads not to fuck up our computers. If we still just had quiet simple banner ads or sideboard ads, ad blockers wouldn't have gotten as much traction.
