The challenge of telling an EPIC story to a modern film audience in one episode. This is why tv platforms & series have become better than film. They can squeeze most of a story in that way.
Alexandra Jordan MD@alexandrajordanmd.bsky.social · 2w agoThe Odysseus of Nolan’s “Odyssey” is 100% not the Odysseus of the epic poem, but I’m ok with that given that Homeric Odysseus is (by modern standards) a terrible person, and you couldn’t make a movie with THAT guy where a modern audience wouldn’t be rooting for the Wine Dark Sea to take him out.
In Wyoming & Dakotas you can get by with murder & embezzlement or whatever, especially if you are important to the GOP. No one pays attention to those states. If things there happened in NYC or Calif it'd be national or world news about corruption schemes.

Stop! With the Watergate reference. Do we still call things the Tea Pot Dome scandal? Trump has done multiple things FAR worse than Watergate. From now on it shall be called, Pulling a Trump or a Trump-moment.
