Been a bit quiet about this but after a very lengthy and intense process, and months of hell - I got a job. Starting tomorrow. I can’t talk too much about it but I’m gonna be a Head of Infrastructure - and working with some things that’s super close to my heart. Very, very nervous… but excited. :3

Now sitting on 207 applications right now for the job search. And still absolutely no news about these jobs, man. One promising interview - ghosted. One pre-screener and task, no replies since… All the other jobs I applied for over the past week, zilch - not even rejections. Really concerned. :(

Sony have officially announced that physical disc production for games is ending in January 2028, along with the removal of PS Store for PS3/Vita. >:( Just makes me super sad that combined with the XBOX and Sony layoffs/cuts, the way the gaming industry is declining was inevitable, but sad to see.

Rediscovering some old music, and man, this song and music video from Mura Masa is such a fucking banger. I remember when the album, R.Y.C. came out at a real storm in my life. Such a good song, give it a go. The Disorder (Joy Division) bassline & structure in it is just the cherry on the cake too.

Not to get all depressing or vent as per usual here, but I am genuinely upset about missing AC again twice in a row. Genuinely, AC24 was my favourite con - with some amazing close friends (you know who you are)… and such an emotional bucket list item. I just hope I can make it out there in 2027. ;~;
i dunno why, but once i'm fully back on my feet, i'm genuinely thinking of learning French sounds odd, but i think it might actually be beneficial down the line, especially if i ever want to move to Canada and need to do the TCF's, or if i wanna move somewhere like France. plus wine… and champagne…
new Phoebe Bridgers song (her first solo song in four years) is pretty fucking solid. literally, all of my fave artists on prod (jack antonoff, bo burnham, ethan gruska, and even *fucking* alex g) - it does clash a little bit in style and it's got the 'kyoto' DNA but this is a good return to form

best console that money can buy and can be modded, tbh - that or a BC PS3. if you got $150+ to spare and can find a HAC-001, or you don’t mind a bit of modchip fuckery you can mod a ‘patched’ SKU. highly recommended as the perfect piracy/emu/homebrew station, tbh. just gotta wait for Switch 2 hax…
